If the account is limited you will not be able to make another one. That's why it is limited.

Windows 8 administrator password recall

if you can aces command prompt (type "cmd" without "" into run or new task or search), and you have admin rights (not limited account) try this: On the Command Prompt, type in: Net User <user name> <new password> and press Enter to reset a new password for Windows 8. in your case user name is administrator ? so: net user administrator 1234 and your administrator password should become 1234 . will not work on guest or limited account :) cheers

My son deleted my user acount and left his but he is not an administator so i have to use his bit with limited access how do i get my user aount back

it will be easier to create a new account instead of trying to recover your previous one. just make sure that you will create an administrator level account.

if you happened to use WINXP you can go to start/ control panel/user accounts and create a new account.

Hi i need to restore my Phillips iqor computer to factory settings as i am getting rid if it and don't want to leave my personal information on it

You don't have to go thru all that trouble to get rid of your personal information. First just create a new user account with administrative rights that the person who is getting your computer will use. After you create the new user account reboot the computer and log on with the new account you created. Then Delete your old user account. It will delete all your documents, music, pictures, videos.

Click Start/Control Panel/User Accounts then create the new user account with Administrative Rights (not limited).

Reboot and and log on with the user account you just created.

Click Start/Control Panel/User Account and select the account you want to delete and Delete it. When asked about files to save, you want to delete everything associated with the account you are deleting.

If you have more than one user account you want to delete, do the same thing for it.

How can i change limited account to administrator? The only option that I have in control panel is the Limited User account. Its not giving me an option to add, create, change account type. Please assist...

If you have limited account that means that you must have on that computer account with administrator privilege.

If you want to change limited account you must log in with administrator account.

if you are administrator follow these steps:

1.Go to Control Panel

2.User Accounts

3.And there you can select users and change them

It say my account is limited

There must be an account on the PC with admin rights?? That user needs to log on and change your account to full instead of limited.

Problem

It is a simple matter to add an administrator account to your computer provided you are already logged in as an administrator. If you are logged in as an account created as "limited",as many guest accounts are, you do not have the authority to create an administrator account.Provided you are already an administrator and only want to add a new account follow these steps. From the start button, go to control panel, then user accounts. Click on add account, create a name, click on administrator and just follow the prompts.

Cant open new account as ones is already there an dont want

to open a New User account,Bank Account ,Email Account.
I guess we should ask exactly what sort of account you are looking for?

If its a New Users Account you will have to be signed on to be able to access control panel, then add new user, once in this area you can set access levels as Limited User Or Computer Administrator

Hope this helps

Same account user appears when i try to create a new account.i am trying to log in with a new password and user id. i have tried to get e'mail validation for a few hours now

no OS mentioned but this should work. Got into Control Panel/User Accounts and delete[yes Delete] all presently identified accounts. reboot. now go into User Account and do a new one.

Also, you did not mention if you are sole Administrator--ensure you have the privileges and are not a sub-account user with limited privileges.
