The very first thing to check is the capacitor. If it looks swollen or leaky it probably has failed. Model PTC093B35AMBP .AC unit will not start., fan - 25795c3.jpg
When both fan and compressor won't work their is an excellent chance this is the problem. If that is ok the control would be next suspect. Since BOTH compressor and fan won't run you either have a capacitor or control switch malfunction. I am leaning towards the capacitor route. Let me know

My amana ptc093b35ambp unit in a hotelroom will start but only blow warm air what should i check?

there is a run capacitor in the unit that needs to be check by using and ohm meter the rating is written on the front of the capacitor in mf called microsfarads. have you cleaned both of the coils the inside and outside. I would first take it outside and wash the units coils with a water hose you will need a spray attachment for the hose to get the pressure.

I have a new Salem travel trailer with Dometic products. Everything appears to work fine, but when I run my furnace and it turns on, my fan blows from my AC unit. I have owned 2 other RV's but...

Yes it sure does sound like something may be wired wrong, Could you please reply with model number of your AC unit as well as thermostat model? To find your AC unit model number if you don't already have it, remove your ceiling air filter assembly, and it should be on the base of the roof unit, facing you.
The base of the roof (upper) unit will have a model and serial number, and if you see a control box where all the wiring attaches as well, get model number from that too if you will. Those numbers should make it easier to determine exactly where the problem is. Thanks.

AC compressor wiil not turn on

You will have to find the contactor which is located in the outside unit. And check the voltage at the contactor, 26 v as this is the thermostat calling for the compressor to come on. You can also push in the contactor and see if the fan and compressor start. There should be an outside fuse box close to your condensing unit. Good luck

Carrier AC Model No. 38CKS fan not spinning

You have bad cccccccccapacitor in your outside unit. Not hard to replace but you need to find someone to sell you one It should say 45 5 or 50 5 on the side of the capacitor. You can also call a service tech about 150 for the repair. Rus Carrier Dealer 45 years

AC roof unit stops cooling after rain

No, the units are sealed and the rain should not have affected the system at all. I would remove the outer cover of the unit and access the capacitors. Your start capacitor may be bad. You can visually inspect this and tell if there is a problem. Small black relay on top of capacitor often burns out, if so, replace capacitor and relay. If this looks fine, then we need to start at the thermostat and work our way forward.

Thanks,

Jeff
