Hello,

Connect the fix in the available wires into the prong and make sure that the blue is connected to the blue prong and the black in the black prong.

If the colors of the wires you are having is different, then you can plug in a brown in place of black and yellow or red in the place of the blue.

Take care

    Ladi:
The three available prongs do not have a color . They are stick out of the controller and are all silver colored metal. I did find some labeling next to the prongs using a magnifying lens. They are labeled COM., N.O., and N.C. Can you tell me to which of these prongs the blue and black wires go to.

Unless you real lucky and find someone with a wiring diagram, you're going to have to contact Viking. Here's their Support/Download page, maybe it will help:

Are the black and blue wires a power feed? If they are, it could be a 120 vac line, with other models having a 240 vac feed (two 120 lines and a ground). If you can't get hold of a circuit diagram, you might be able to trace the wires and figure out if they're from a compressor, switch, main feed, etc. That may give you a clue as to their function and voltage requirements. Another possibility is to find someone with a similar unit and discern the wiring- you might pose the question on Craigslist and see if anyone could help. Otherwise, a service manual will be required. Is Viking working with you on this?

Hello,

please I don't understand this question. Can you please rephrase it? Which wires are you referring to?

I look forward to your reply.

Bye for now.

There are three male prongs at one end of the wine control unit. There are two female connectors ( 2 blue wires and 2 black wires) that have female connecting ends that can fit the male prongs. It is unclear which one goes where. I can try to fax a picture of it if you give me a fax number. Stan

My dual zone wine cooler stopped cooling. Power is good and fan is working.

Fan is wired separately from the cooling unit. you may have a wire corrosion issue. take put the shelves, disassemble the back of the unit from the inside and observe the wiring to see if there are broken or corroded wires/connections. R/R if necessary.

Ice on the back wall; temperature went from 58 degrees to 34 degrees; had to shut off regrigerator

hi,
Wine cabinets work off of cycle defrost, so in order to built frost your temperature sensors are not working properly. I would look for corrosion on or in connections to be the fault or problem. Sensors report information to control unit and thats there only job. Its the control unit that dictates function. Look for corrosion to be the problem, clean connection and seal with RTV when connection a corrected.
Good Luck

Wine cooler cools but it does not turn on again . need to unplug and plug again ,but in doing so I erase settings thank you

Possible that the error is in the main program controller unit of the coolerr. It might be hanging up due to some errors in the voltage or the sensors.
make sure the connections are tight , check the thermostat settings, reduce to lower level, allow the unit to cool off , unplug for few hours and check again. if not check your program controller unit.

Cooler does not come on. The lights work but does

If I read your serial number correctly, your 3.0 cuft Wine Cooler, was built 01-25-2001...there seems to be a digit missing. Your unit should have the SSAC control system which consists of three parts: The control board, the potentiometer and the thermistor. To verify this, you will need to pull your unit out so you can access the rear panel. Remove the bottom rear panel. Near the compressor you should find a 2-inch square control board that has 7 terminals and 4 small switches labeled 1-2-4-8. With the unit inplugged, disconnect the red wire from terminal #3 and the black wire from terminal #2 and connect them together. Plug the unit in. it should run continously. If it does run, then one or more of those three components is bad. If you have a multi-meter you can determine which one or you can order the set from the factory at 800-223-3900...part number 42246442.

Comment back if it does not run, or if there is no black control module or if you desire to test the individual components and I'll provide further assistance. - Subdriver

Temperature control does not work. Unit freezes everything no matter where the temperature control is set (Marvel Wine Refrigerator)

Either the thermostat itself is bad, or the relay is sticking. If you break the connection between the T-stat and the relay, and it keeps runnning, the problem is the relay.

If the compressor stops running when you break the connection or disconnect the T-stat, then the T-stat needs to be replaced.

Waring Portable Ice Machine Schematics

I doubt you will find any schematics for this unit. It should be pretty straight forward anyway. I suspect that uses a solid state plate cooler, and basic schematics for them, and their control board, can probably be found n the internet.

Emerson wine cooler /ER2352

I had a similar problem and just solved it.
My cooler was leaking and had trouble keeping the proper temperature.
It was also making a buzzing sound which is what lead me to my solution.
BTW - The liquid that was leaking was condensation, probably because the unit was not holding a constant temperature.

Unplug the unit first - no need to get electrocuted.
These units use peltier cooling- essentially a large heat sink with three fans attached.
Click here for more info regarding peltier cooling.
The peltier unit is not repairable, but the fans are; which was what my problem was.
There are three fans on this unit, one on the inside and two on the outside.
Follow these steps to remove them.
  1. Remove the rear cover. It is held on with ten screws. This exposes the two exterior fans and the peltier heat sink
  2. The heat sink is held on with four screws - remove them and pull the heat sink out. The third fan is on a short wire lead, so be careful when removing the heat sink from the body of the cooler.
  3. The two exterior fans are connected to a control panel, the electrical connection is easy to disconnect.
  4. Once all of the wires have been disconnected, you can remove the fans from the heat sink.
  5. The fans are screwed to a mounting plate, which is screwed to the heat sink
  6. You must remove the mounting plate first to expose the screws that hold the fan to the mounting plate. The fans are typical computer case cooling fans
  7. I only needed one fan, but replaced all three because I didn't want to do this job again.
  8. I purchased my fans from Newark.com the prices were better than what I found at the computer websites. Also, these fans are much better than the original and will hopefully last much longer than the three I got from the old ones.
  9. You need one of these and two of these. The total with shipping was around $30
  10. You will need to splice the old electrical connection sockets onto the new fans using wire crimpers or solder them on.
  11. Attach the components in reverse order and power on the unit.
  12. These fnas may move more air than the originals, because the unit seemed to cool much quicker than I remember.
  13. Total time for repair is about 45 minutes
Hope this helps and Good Luck
