Question about Archos 605 WiFi Digital Media Player
We bought the Archos 30GB as we travel and would like to download photos from the camera to the Archos, without taking the laptop along. I have been able to load photos, music, and videos, from my computer using Windows Explorer on an XP machine. BUT, we have been unable to transfer photos direct from the camera with the USB, as we are supposed to be able to. When we get the split screen, which doesn't come up as it should automatically, it just has the same information on both sides, which is the hard drive on the 605. Call to tech support said to reformat, which we did. Now, it doesn't even have the camera come on for instruction, which it did before. Anyone have a clue....? Will be traveling soon and hope to have this operating correctly before then.
Another call to the US Tech support, different technican, and the problem was solved. We did not have the docking station plugged into an electrical outlet. We had the Archos in the docking station, and turned on, but it needs the extra power apparently from the AC. Problem solved! Was able to download photos direct from the camera to the Archos with the USB.
