Vizio SV422XVT, AT&T Uverse: volume gets quieter on its own

Hi, I have a SV422XVT with AT&T Uverse. Most of the time when I put on a channel, the volume is fine... then gets quieter to the point that it is annoying and I just turn the volume up. If I click Pause (DVR), wait 3-5 seconds, the hit Play then the volume is back to being fine (very nice, actually) then immediately begins to get quieter.

I have tried various HDMI cables. The component cables seem to work fine.

Is the HDMI port 2 work? Try to turn it off and turn it back on. If it is still not working then the HDMI ports have gone bad. You will need to replace the main board.

SOURCE: When I connect HDMI from a Time Warner DVR to my

Use the Time Warner remote and hit the settings button twice. Scroll down to "audio: digital out" and select HDMI. That solved it for me.

The only issue I have now is that I also have component sound outputs going from the cable box to a receiver. When I turn off the TV while the HDMI cable is hooked up to both the box and the tv the sound goes out to the receiver...

SOURCE: 47" Vizio Flat screen HD LCD freezes up and remote will not work.

could it be Ch 9's digital signal is not broadcasting right? what is your refresh rate on your tv? 60 or 120hz? if its 120hz, then its more then likely the digital broadcast, if its 60hz I think its your tv can't keep up with their signal that may be at 120hz. Make since??

Uverse says no channels in master list

Do resetting and go for auto scan. If the channels are not stored, there is something wrong with the memory chip inside.

Sounds like you might need to replace the main board on the unit. Make certain you get the right one or it will not work. E-Bay might have one.

I have lost my remote and the kids pushed the side buttons on the TV to raise the volume but instead changed the channel. Now I can't get back to the channel that works with my AT&T uverse box.

Hi,

Instead of changing the channels, press the "INPUT" button on the side of the TV slowly and repeatedly. The TV will cycle through all of the available external inputs one of which will be for your Uverse box. If this doesn't work, try switching to channel 3 or 4. I can't say which will be correct as it depends how the equipment is setup.

Hope this helps.

BElectric

Just bought E420VL 42" LCD

Go into menu, sound set-up, and switch SRS to off. It's a vizio thing they came up with to act like "Smart Sound" where commercials won't be louder. It is total BS and does not work, it makes your normal sound fluctuate. Worked on all 3 of my Vizios. Hope it helps you.

Hi,
Maybe too late for you but ATT just gave me a code that works with my Vizio plasma. Code is 1343. Even the mute works correctly. They gave me some others to try but I didn't need them. Other codes were 1018, 0030 and 0056.
