I have a Toshiba Qosmio F60 series. My son was using my laptop and some how turned off the wireless internet. I have tried turning it back on and it keeps popping up with refer to my manual for the location of the wireless communication switch which is located of the front or side of the computer. Which I did go through the manual and could not find anything in there relating to a wireless communication switch. I did notice there was a picture of an airel of the front of the computer but no switch.

We had the same problem and the above solution didn't work. It wasn't anything your son did, but obviously a problem with the computer itself. Disconnect from the mains and pull out the battery with the computer still going, then restart. When prompted just open Windows normally and the wifi was now functional again.

Do you have a similar aerial symbol on the F8 key? Or some other function key for that matter?

If so, try a Fn + F8 key combination (Fn is second in the lower key row, next to Ctrl). This should turn the wireless back on, and the LED with the antenna symbol you mentioned should light up. It should toggle the state each time you press this combination.

Good luck, and please leave a testimonial if helped :)

Qosmio f60 fan goes on high speed and freez. It keep freezing. The only way to reboot it is to hold down the power button to turn it off and then turn it back on.

I have the same "computer" qosmio f60. I've replaced the hard drive, installed a new window 7 OS, changed RAM paging, power options, run the things with a fan pointed at the computer fan.
The fan goes to high speed and the HDD LED unblinking. I've brought the laptop to two computer shops whose owners knew less about computers than I did. I tried to go to a Toshiba recommended shop in Toronto except they changed to Apple-service only. I tried phoning Toshiba, they just want to change 4 bucks a minute for technical assistance. I've had this Toshiba-thing going on 3 years with the troubles starting after the first year. No one cares about this problem. If I see a Toshiba factory I'm going to chuck this red brick of cra through the window.
BTW it's not a virus or rootkit. I had to learn how to partition a HDD sector through some crazy BIOS program before installing windows. There's no virus or rootkit that's causing this problem.
It's mostly been freezing on me with games.

Insert the Windows 7 Install disk or upgrade disk in teh DVD drive of the laptop and boot the laptop. Windows will do the install process. Assuming that laptop supports Windows 7. Make sure you get the Windows 7 drivers for all your devices before you start the process.

How do i remove back and reinstall fan?

Welcome to Fixya

Here's the procedure:

1. Shutdown the laptop and remove the AC adapter. Disconnect any devices, such as a printer or external DVD-ROM or drive, that are attached to the laptop
2. Remove the laptop battery. Turn the laptop upside down, slide the battery release latch and then pull the battery out of the bay.
3. Unscrew the hard drive cover. Grab the hard drive tab and shift the hard drive to the left to unplug it. Lift the hard drive out of the bay.
4. Unscrew and remove the PCI memory cover, the optical drive cover, and switch cover.
5. Unscrew the two screws that hold the keyboard to the base, these are located in the middle of the rear panel. Flip the laptop over so it is right side up, open and remove the keyboard by using the keyboard release switches located above the keyboard. Next, unplug the Toshiba Qosmio E15-AV101 Fan cable.
6. Close the laptop and turn it over so it is bottom up. Unscrew the display assembly screws located under the laptop screen hinges. Turn the laptop over so it is right side up. Open the laptop and unplug the display assembly cable and disconnect the wireless antenna from the display assembly. Unscrew the display assembly from the laptop base and remove.
7. Unplug the mouse pad cable. Turn the laptop over so the bottom side is up and unscrew the base screws which are located along all four sides of the laptop base. Gently remove the base of the laptop.
8. Turn the laptop over so it is right side up. Unplug the fan cable from the circuit board. Unscrew the screws holding the Toshiba Qosmio E15-AV101 CPU fan assembly to the laptop. Lift the fan assembly out of the laptop.
9. Insert the new Toshiba Qosmio E15-AV101 CPU fan assembly into the lap top. Screw the assembly unit to the lap top and plug the Toshiba Qosmio E15-AV101 CPU cooling fan cable into the circuit board.
10. Reassemble the laptop by repeating the previous steps in reverse order.
