Hello,

the laser lens is very weak such that cleaning cannot revive or make it sharp again. The laser lens needs to be replaced completely for it to load DVD perfectly again.

I'm sure it can still load Audio CD's. The laser lens is responsible for this problem. Therefore replaced and the GoVideo ht2015 will be ale to load DVD again.

Good luck.

    Hello,

you can purchase the replace part from any electronics accessories shop/store within your vicinity. You can also get the DVD replacement drive there.

We don's stay in the same vicinity, if not, I would have given you a precise place to get the replacements.

    Take care.

can the electronic circuit control the laser beam have problem thus
cause the beam not able to read dvd even if I replace the drive? CD
    work good as you indicated

    Hello,

no, the problem is not from the electronic circuit control. The fault is from the laser itself. if the electronic circuit that controls the laser beam is fault, it won't even play CD's in the first place.

The laser (lens) is actually the fault. It has worn out and cannot play DVD. It can still play CD's because DVD's are stronger and has large capacity, than CD.

    Take care.

Is your DVD player malfunctioning? If you're getting a no-disc error, you may need to clean the DVD player's laser pickup. The laser pickup is what reads DVD's and allows you to view them on your TV. If you need to clean the laser pickup lens on a DVD player, follow these simple steps.
Difficulty: Moderate Instructions things you'll need:

  • Isopropyl alcohol
  • DVD lens cleaner
    • 1 Make sure the laser pickup lens is actually the problem. There are a wide variety of reasons that a DVD player might not read a disc efficiently. The disc could be scratched or dirty, for example. Test the DVD player with a disc that you know works before trying to clean the lens.
    • 2 Purchase or borrow a lens cleaner disc and try it first. You can find these things really cheap at any large department store. They usually get the job done well. However, you may need to clean the lens manually if the store-bought cleaner fails.
    • 3 Remove the outer casing of the DVD player. Remove the screws that mount the top casing onto the bottom of the DVD player and slide the top casing off. This will expose the DVD deck, which houses the laser pickup lens.
    • 4 Find the lens. The lens will be glass and under the DVD clamp. The lens will probably have a blue tint to it. If you are having trouble finding the lens, you could shine a light on the components and watch for the reflection.
    • 5 Use a cotton swab and some isopropyl alcohol to gently wipe the lens. Just a quick scrub will do. Dry the laser pickup lens with the other end of the swab.
    • 6 Give the lens a few seconds to dry and replace the covering of the DVD player. Test the efficiency of the player. If necessary, repeat the process.

My Onkyo DVD/CD Player CP704 plays CD's with no problem, but DVD's are a problem: I get "loading" but does not play and I get "no disc" on many occasions. What gives, any solutions? Thank you.

Laser Beam could be dirty, use disc cleaner or clean the eye beam on the laser pickup but the Laser ickup could also be bad, Mats has them

DVD drawer will not open

I had the same problem with mine and what I had to do was take off the outer case and unscrew the 4 screws that hole down the dvd player in side the unit and left them out.
For some reason it was binding on the dvd player and would not let the tray slide out.
Hope this will help you out off the mean time.
