Hi i have a very weird problem with my storm....

Hi i have a very weird problem with my storm.... It shows full network i can go to network options and do a scan manually.. It shows all other networks i can also select my network.... The prob is i cant make or receive any calls and whenever the phone is in this state the network diagnostic test shows radio unavailable.... Now sometimes the phone would automatically start working and the gsm will change to edge/edge and i can make and recieve calls and the network diagnostics test would show proper results. I have tried using different fully working sims and all other basic tricks like updating/downgrading the software to doing the battery pull to using another battery... Nothing helps... i have also disassembled the phone and checked for any damage but everything is perfect. one local technician told me that this is a similar problem that is faced by Chinese phones where the network provider cannot register their imei and so they are not able to make or receive any calls. Is this what has happen

My opinion, your unlocked blackberry storm software still binding with your old sim card network. Try to reinstall your blackberry software since blackberry unlock code only affected to your phone network and your software still remains your old sim card.

How To Unlock BlackBerry Storm

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} How to Enter Unlock Codes on BlackBerry Storm (for Verizon, Telus & Bell STORM, see below)
1) Need a SIM card inserted into the phone
2) Click on manage connections, select turn all connections off
3) Go to Settings Menu, Options, Advanced Options and then SIM Card.
4) Hit the menu button and select show keyboard
5) Type in MEPD using the keyboard (nothing will show on screen)
0) You will see the Personalization screen, that show SIM> Disabled, Network> Active, Network Subset> Disabled
6) Type in MEP2 (Nothing will show on screen - use "Alt" to show numbers.) another screen pops up for the code.
7) Now it will say enter network mep code Enter the code that we send you, remember you ONLY have 10 chances to get it right
8) Press the enter key
9) A message will appear saying code accepted
00) On Personalization screen you will see the Network> Inactive.
10) Turn device off, insert SIM of your choice if have not done so already
11) Turn the phone back on
12) Go to Options, then Mobile Network, on the third row switch it to GSM/UMTS and you're done.

Issues:
1) If you have issues with the phone not recognizing the network, make sure the radio is on by making sure it is not low on power.
2) Sometimes the phone requires you to do "m e p p d" instead of "m e p d" and if that occurs, you will need to do "m e p p 2" instead of "m e p 2"
3) If you have issues with the network not working after you have finished and the phone isn't low on power, switch from Global to GSM to Verizon a few times (keep on doing) and after 3 times of the process completed, leave it on GSM. Should work now.

Removing "Activation Required" on the screen:
1) On the main screen of the phone, press ##000000
2) For the Mobile Directory Number, put in your phone number in there.
3) After you have done that, press the menu button to save the options and the phone will automatically restart

Black berry storm 9539 MEID :A000000D0673A, VERIZON, USA need unlock code for using w/t-mobile

BlackBerry has made several different 'Storm' models which began with the 9530 series and has evolved to the BlackBerry Storm 3G. To start your blackberry curve unlocking experience. It is very simple to perform an unlock on your curve and you can do it from your own home. First, you should check if your BlackBerry Storm is already unlocked. As you continue to read, you'll learn how to see if your BB is already unlocked and you will also learn how to unlock it if it is still locked to its original network carrier. Unlocking the BlackBerry Storm is not free in 99% of the cases. Typically, you need an unlock code to unlock your phone and we should check to see if our BlackBerry is unlocked first. You can do this in a few simple steps. The first step would be to go to options - advanced options - sim card on your curve smart phone. From here you're going to have to type in the letters M (Mary) E (Edward) P (Pasta) D (Dog). You'll get some new menus that come up like Network, Network Subset, Service Provider and Corporate. If this didn't work for you, try typing MEPD with capital letters. You'll notice that everything is disabled except possibly the Network. If the network is active, then it means that your phone is locked. You're going to need to unlock it and we'll show you that in the next couple of steps.
Before we continue, you will need to purchase an unlock code from a third party cell phone unlocking company. The one that I recommend is a company which is US based called Unlockgenie. They unlock Storm of all different models and makes. You can Google them if you'd like, but I've had about 6 phones unlocked through them and have had no problems with them. Unlock codes range between $15-$50. Unlockgenie has been running a long term promotion for BlackBerry unlock codes at $5.99 - $21.99 for.

I bought a bb storm 9550 off ebay which has vodafone on it i tried to get it unloked for t-mobile but it may be blocked - what can i do

Hello,

It looks like the telephone is SIM locked.

If you go to Options > Advanced Options > SIM Card and type MEPD.

This will bring up another screen. If the Network option shows "Disabled" then it is unlocked.

If its locked go back to the seller or buy an unlock code online.

Hope it helped.

Unlock my phone

Hi,

You mean unlock as in Network Unlock? or screen unlock?

Screen Unlock is simple - if you forgotten the password type the wrong password 10 times and it will wipe it the device on the 10th attempt.

Network unlock - im affraid the Network provider have this option only.

I hope this helps,

Thanks.
