I can't get my printer (x5470) to connect to my pc (hp pavillion xt966) it has millinium now but says windows xp ready.

First, make sure you have the latest driver for your OS. You can get it here.
Next go to your control panel and click on 'printers and faxes' or something to that effect, based on your OS.
Next click 'add a printer'
This will open up a wizard. Click next on the first page. Select the first option, ie 'Local printer attached to computer' and make sure the box below is checked ie, 'automatically detect plug and play printer'.
Click next and make sure you select this as your default printer.

If your printer is not getting detected, try using a different USB port..

Try to uninstall the existing driver first before installing a new driver. You may refer to this article on How to Uninstall Lexmark Printers. Reboot pc when prompted. I have a hp pavillion xt966 tower that i want to use but i don't know what connections go where.


Pretty self explanatory, the only ports that you can mix up is the keyboard and mouse. Its actually marked if you look closely at rear panel.

Yes, You should have no problems. I believe the Acer aspire one comes with windows XP installed so you will just need to go to the Lexmark.com site and download the driver for the Lexmark X5470 for Windows XP and install it.

HP Pavillion a1220n stopped printing


Most companies don't offer driver support for XP anymore, it's 2017, time to upgrade to atleast Windows 7 now.
