Kenmore oven model 93341/93441

Displaying pf when plugged into outlet

    I have a Whirlpool oven that had an over temp problem. The tech replaced the control module and I've gotten two PF errors since then. Both while cooking - gotta keep an eye on the oven as that shuts it down - and in neither case was there an actual power failure. Nothing else in the house reset itself. I suspect they just ship bad controller modules to keep the repair guys busy :-) Thank goodness we have the extended warranty. The cost for the last service would have been over $350 bucks. This is the 2nd major repair in two years - 1st the oven gas valve failed.

    BTW the first tech told me to never, ever, use self-clean as it will damage the oven. Nice!

I happen to have a manual for that line of models. The PF stands for "Power Failure". It is just the oven's way of saying that the clock needs to be reset, and any oven operations that were in process at the time the electricity was cut off will need to be restarted.

My Kenmore oven won't work there is a PF 5AB error

The PF on your control indicates a power failure and should be removed by pressing the cancel button. The 5ab code indicates the range is in the SABBATH mode.

If a power failure occurs when the SABBATH mode is set, the oven will return to the OFF mode and will turn the power OFF to the oven.

To ENABLE SABBATH mode:

* Open the oven door
* Press STOP/CLEAR
* Press both the HOUR "UP" and "DOWN" arrow pad at the same time - and hold for 5 seconds.
SAB ON will disappear from the display.

To disable SABBATH mode: Repeat the steps above and SAB OFF will appear.

To set the SABBATH mode for use during the SABBATH/Holidays:
* Press BAKE
* Pres TEMP "UP" and "DOWN" Arrow pad to enter a different temperature other than 350 degrees. (Between 170F and 500F)
* Press COOK TIME
* Press HOUR/MIN "up" or "down" arrow to set cook time
* Press DELAY START to set a delayed cook time (optional)
* Press and hold TIMER OFF for 5 seconds
SAB will appear on the display indicating it is ready.
* Press START
* To STOP cooking - press STOP/CLEAR
* To exit the SABBATH mode and return to normal operation - press and hold TIMER OFF for 5 seconds.

I have a Kenmore over-the-stove microwave oven that is not heating food. Everything else works. I received a message of PF on the keypad. Is there anything I can do before I have to call a repair...

PF - Power Failure - PF error code indicates a power failure during the cycle.
Press and HOLD start to continue the cycle, or press off/pause to clear display.

Sears Kenmore Elite Oven 790.99123405 Caught Fire!!!

The PF indicates a power failure.
The range experienced a loss of electrical power.
This code is usually cleared by pressing the CLEAR/OFF button.
If you continue to get this code, you may need to unplug the range and check the wiring connections of the power cord on the back of the range.

PF ON DISPLAY FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS

PF is a power failure. The unit is detecting a loss in power, but it should operate fine after the code is cleared (unplugging and plugging back in).

If the problem persists, then either you have an issue with the AC power coming from the wall outlet or the main board is faulty. Also make sure to check all the connections on the terminal block (where the AC cord attaches to the dryer) to make sure there are no loose wires or screw terminals.
