If you installed the software for it these buttons can be set to do another function like the left mouse and right mouse buttons. You just need to give them a function.

Connect my leeds 1690 wireless mouse to my laptop

hi Shon.
Connecting a Mouse with a Wireless Receiver.
1
Plug in your mouse's receiver. The receiver should fit into one of your computer's USB ports. You can typically find USB ports, which are thin, rectangular slots, on the sides of laptops and on the front of desktops' CPU boxes.
  • Plugging in the receiver before turning on the mouse will allow your computer to install any drivers or software needed to use the mouse.
Make sure that your mouse has batteries. To do so, you'll typically flip the mouse over and remove a tray on the bottom, though some mice instead have their batteries in a compartment in the back of the mouse.
  • If you haven't used the mouse in several months, consider replacing the batteries even if they were new when you inserted them.
  • Some mice, such as the Apple Magic Mouse 2, require charging instead of new batteries.
  • 3
Turn on your mouse. This typically involves manipulating a button on the bottom of the mouse, though you may need to look for the On/Off switch on the side of the mouse.
    • If you can't find the On/Off button, consult your mouse's manual.
    4
Press your mouse's "Connect" button. This button's location will vary based on your mouse's developer, but you'll usually be able to find this button either between the two mouse buttons or on the mouse's side.
    • Some mice come listed as "plug and play", meaning that you don't need to manually connect them or download any software.
    5
Move your mouse around. Once you see the cursor begin to move on-screen, your mouse is connected.
    • If your mouse doesn't start moving, try turning it off and then back on. If applicable, you may also want to change the USB port into which the receiver is plugged.

How to Connect Wireless Mouse

Mouse model # FD4003 I didn't get a instruction book with my mouse, so I am wondering what the top round button is for and what the side buttons are for.

If you are referring to the wheel as the top round button, that is for scrolling up and down within web pages. As for the side buttons, they are designed (default) to go forward and backward through web pages viewed. Those side buttons will most likely only work if you load the software that comes with the mouse as they are non-standard buttons. That same software may allow you to reassign the functions of the buttons for other uses.

HP 2530p EliteBook - touchpad stopped working. Scrolling works except touch scrolling on right side of pad) and right button, but that's all. Wireless mouse works fine.

To access Mouse Properties, select Start - Control Panel - Hardware and Sound -Mouse.

Use Mouse Properties in Windows to customize settings for pointing devices, such as button configuration, click speed, and pointer options.

These are the steps to change the mouse sensitivity

Click on the "Start" button in the lower left corner of your computer screen to open the Start menu so you can change the mouse sensitivity. Locate the control panel link on the right-hand column of the Start menu and click on the link.

Wait for the Control Panel manu to open and then locate the "Search Control Panel" bar at the top of the menu on the the right-hand side. Type in "mouse" (no quote marks) in the window and locate the mouse menu at the top, left side of the menu.

Locate the link that says "Change Button Settings" at the bottom of the mouse menu and click on the link. When the mouse properties window appears, locate the tabs at the top of the window and find the one that says "Pointer Options."

Click on the "Pointer Options" window tab and locate the heading that says "Motion." In the Motion section, find the slide ajustment bar that is labeled "Slow" on the left side and "Fast" on the right side of the bar.

Move the bar according to your desired speed and preferences, and click on the "Apply" button on the lower right-hand side of the window.

Click the "OK" button on the lower left-hand side of the window, which will take you back to the default window. Verify that the mouse sensitivity is according to your needs and readjust if necessary by repeating these steps.

I accidentally turned on the wireless 5000 mouse magnifier and can't get rid of the magnifier. How do I turn it off?

Normal 0 The button on the left side of the mouse when pressed turns the Magnifier on/off. Just press it again and it should turn off.
I kept turning it on accidentally so I went in the control panel and switched the Magnifier to the right side. I added that below so you can set your mouse buttons.

Go to Control Panel and click on the Mouse icon. Then the mouse properties will appear showing the mouse buttons. In the Left column is the button settings. The bottom one is the Right Button, which is set for Magnify. Whenever you hit the Right Side button the magnifier will turn on. To turn it off, hit the Right Side Button and off it goes. You can change any of the button settings by clicking on the drop down.

Where's the battery????

If you consider the button and wheel side to be the front -
There is a silver oval button at the back of the mouse. Press it and the top of the mouse just behind the mouse buttons will pop open.
It takes 1 AA battery with the negative side going to the front.
