Hi,
Your operating has all gone corrupted so now you'll have to re-install the operating system. If you have emachines recovery disc (not the one you created) then put it in and press ctrl + f11. It should bring recovery option then follow few general instruction and it will allow you to re-install the operating system.
[Note : If you don't have a disc then call emachines and ask for one]
Good Luck!

You may just have to re-install windows to resolve this problem. You will not lose any data(other than that in the My documents folder) if you follow the procedure below.
1)When you see the choose the partition screen select the same partition where XP was previously installed and hit enter
2)You will get a warning message that there is already an existing windows OS on the partition and whether you want to proceed. Select yes
3)Then you will either see the formatting options(select leave the filesystem intact no changes) or an option asking you whether you wanna delete the existing operating system files. Choose yes. It will simply delete the existing windows files and install windows without touching any of your other files.
PS: If you do not have a Windows XP CD then you can obtain it from stores like ebay for about 50$(OEM edition).

Boot in safe mode (Press F8 over and over while your computer is booting up). From there, go to your device manager and roll back the driver on this device.

Device Manager is in control panel, hardware and sound, then it's at the top under Devices and Printers.

Emachine EL 1200 06w Restore ???

tjbrown527 --

I have no idea about the difference between XP Home and "Nettops", lol! But, I can help you restore :)

Reboot your PC, when the very first screen comes up (the manufacturer's screen, the one before the Windows splash) press and hold F8 (or tap repeatedly). This will take you to a boot-options menu. Choose "Boot in Safe Mode", allow windows to load.

When it is finished loading, you may be given an automatic choice of either running System Restore, or finish loading in Safe Mode. Choose System Restore, and restore to a date (on the little calander) sometime before your issues came up.

If you are not prompted automatically, and instead it loads to the desktop, go to Start Button ---> Help and Support ---> and under "Pick a Task" choose "Undo changes to your computer with System Restore". Again, pick a date and let 'er rip!

(you can also find it in Start Button ---> Programs ---> Accessories ---> System Tools ---> System Restore)

*****If you are not having problems with your boot, and simply want to restore, you can skip the F8 way and just go straight to restore from your normal desktop!

Whew! Hope some of this helps!

If you need any further assistance, please feel free to post a comment to this post and I will be glad to help!

Tried to do a restore with restore disc that came with the comput

There seems to be a problem with the operating system that is being installed. This often happens if you use the restore disks that came from another computer.

Are you sure that you used the disks that came with that exact computer? Does it flash a blue screen right before restarting the cycle?

Try the restore over again and if the problem persists, you may have to either order new restore disks for your computer or buy a fresh copy of Windows XP.

Emachine T1100 Emachine window then no system window

It sounds like the hard drive has been wiped or is dead or not connected. Check the power and control cables to the hard drive. Check drive with a maintenance diskette or CD. Replace drive if bad. If wiped or replaced, you need to re-install an operating system, such as MS Windows-XP, or Ubuntu (a free, downloadable, Debian GNU/Linux based operating system with a Windows-like user interface).

BOOTMGR is missing

Just had this problem kept getting

"BOOTMGR is missing
Press ctl+alt+del to restart"

and it just cycles through to the same screen. Called tech support and this is how they solved the issue for me in less than 10 mins

turn computer off completely

Hold the "alt" and "Fn" down and power computer back on
While computer is powering on tap the "F10" key

(you need to hit the F10 key on the black screen with the cursor just before the BOOTMGR error appears)

You should get a screen that says "Windows programs Loading"

And then you have to run a restore to factory defaults (this means the computer will work fine once it finishes up the restore, but everything saved on the computer will be lost)

Hope this helps.
