Hello,

Turn off the power and make sure the power cord is securely plugged into the printer.

  • Make sure your outlet works and is not controlled by a wall switch or timer.
Make sure the supplied voltage to the printer matches the rating voltage labeled on the printer. If not, turn off the power and unplug the power cord immediately.

If you are in UK try changing the fuse in plug.

If after all this, the problem still persist, then, it means the board on the printer is defective and will need to be replace.

Take care.

In use memory light flashes continually. memory list report says nothing in memory. nothing in printer queue on computer.

Hello

It may be the cartridge...try removing it and then reseating it. If that doesn't do it, clean the contacts with water or isopropyl alcohol.(power off when you do this)

1, Power off the printer

2, Unplug the printer's power cord, wait 5 seconds then replug the power cord in.

3, Hold the Power button for 6 Beeps

4, Release the Power Button

This will reset the printer and should resolve incorrect cartridge detection problems

Service error 9000

Error 9000 is a USB overcurrent error. Unplug the power cord, unplug the USB cable, and plug in the power cord. Leave the USB cable unplugged. Turn on the printer. If it still has the error, it needs a new logic board. Price of board exceeds cost of new machine.
If the unit comes ready, replace your USB cable.

Canon mp830 all-in-one printer will not power on

When the printhead goes bad it can keep it from turning on. If the carriage is not locked on the right, remove the inks and printhead and try power again. If it comes on you need a new printhead, QY6-0061-000, don't put the old one back in again as it could ruin the main logic pcb.

Any lightning strikes locally?
You can try to reset back to factory by removing cartridges and head.Power off unit ,then unplug for 45 minutes.repower and install all.
Do a nozzle check and see what happens.

Canon MP830 power outage while printing

My MP830 did the same thing today. I thought it was toast. However through a Google search I found the following suggestion.

Unplug the MP830 for 20 minutes or more. Plug the MP830 back in and hit the power button.

To might great relief my MP830 powered up and is working just fine.

Loss of power

There is a glass pigtail fuse on the printed circuit board of the power supply. The problem is getting into the power supply housing. It's not meant to be accessed but can be done. I removed mine from the board and it tested bad. The other problem is finding the same type and rated fuse. Good luck with that. It wasn't meant to be. Good news is that you can buy a new power supply from Canon for about thirty bucks and it's a breaze to replace. It's located where the power cord plugs into the unit and has only one screw securing it. Five minutes or less to replace.
