Question about Watches

2 Answers

I got the cover off my Coleman 40-727 wrist watch. I tried to slip the battery cover off as the previous expert suggested. Easier said than done. I was not able to slide the cover off. There appear to be clips on either side. Because of the wrist band it is difficult to work on this watch. It seems that I may be able to lift the entire watch out of the case. Please help.

I have the watch cover off my Coleman 40-727 wrist watch. It is gaining access to the battery that is my problem. I can't seem to get the battery cover off to replace the current battery.

You should be able to remove the inner workngs in one piece, provided you first unscrew the crown. This will make it much easier to replace the battery.

When moving the tab that holds the battery in place do not a metal tool. Metal will damage the tab and could cause a short which will leave the watch useless. Use a small piece of plastic (such as a single tine from a plastic fork) or a piece wood of similar size.

Important thing to keep in mind: If watch is water resistant sometimes called water proof, after opening the case back any water resistance is lost unless gasket is replaced. If water resistance is important I'd suggest you take it to a qualified repairer.

You can slide a thin metal strip(like a paper cutter or something) and lift the back cover of the case..Watches do not have clips. It just clicks into place thats all.

It's not the cover that is the problem. That was screwed on with 4 sccrews. It's the cover on top of the battery that I am experiencing difficulty openeing.

i don't have one of these watches, but i took a look at a picture of the back. at the back, there's a slightly raised lip. this is the back cover. get something sharp like a knife, and just slip it under that lip and pry it open. that should give u access to replace the battery.

3792x As l said before l have a Sharp wrist watch that l can't get the correct day to show up.Everything else is okay on the watch.

Hello,

This wrist watch needs to be calibrated in order for you to be able to get the the correct day. The wrist watch need to be opened and corrected from inside the unit. It is not an easy fix, so i will suggest you try take it to the experts that will be able to help you loosen the wrist watch and do the calibration for you to get the proper day running on it.

My wrist watch once had similar problem but it is made by TAG, i tried everything i could to fix this, but until it got to the repair guys shop, he loosened it and corrected it from the engine of the wrist watch.

It is not all watch experts that can do that so be sure to ask them first before they try to fix it for you.

Hope this was helpful to you.

96R19 Wrist Watch: How can I change the battery...

A general observation - Take you watch to a shop to have it done professionally. Some watches are difficult to get into and there are lots of pitfalls for the unwary. I've seen far too many watches ruined by people wanting to save a bit of money by trying to change batteries themselves.

How much is an estimated cost for a new battery and an extra wrist extension? And i do not have any spare extension with me.

Battery replacement is about an $8 job at any watch shop. You or the shop will have to cntact Charriol to see if links are available. Sometimes it cheaper and easier to just buy a new bracelet (band) for it.

How can i replace the battery on a Breitling

I suggest that you got to "www.breitling.com" and after getting past the pretty pictures you click on "maintenance centers" and find the one nearest you.

You can get into difficulty replacing batteries and it is not worth the risk for the small cost saving.

One fairly frequent cry for help is because the owner can't get the back on again. Also since watches frequently include gaskets to keep water out, difficulty can be experienced in fitting the back and maintaining the seal.

Can I replace the battery in my Casio Baby G BG-460?

Replacing the battery is best done by an experienced technician, especially when they are a waterproof variety, as the seal is very important.

Getting the back of is sometimes much easier to do than putting it back on again.

I advise you take it to your nearest dealer in your make of watch.
