I want to install the CanoScan Lide30/N1240U but there is no driver for Windows7. So it looks like I cannot use the scanner anymore. Is there anyone who knows a solution?

Hi,
Go to site
http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0000466.asp

and select OS as Vista and language as English and press submit
and download windows vista drivers.
you can use Vista driver in Windows 7 using Compatability Mode.

Step required..
1. Right click on driver installation file.
2. choose properties
3. choose compatability tab
4. select Vista
5. press ok
6. Install the driver

I hope it will help you.
Thanks for using FixYa.

There is no Windows 7 driver for my lide30 scanner.

Visit http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0000466.asp to download the Windows Vista drivers for the Canon CanoScan LiDE 30.You can try installing these using compatibility mode by right clicking on the downloaded files, and selecting 'troubleshoot compatibility' - select the option for 'worked in a previous version of windows' and then select vista

If this does not work, you should extract all of the downloaded files, press start, right click on 'my computer' select 'properties' and then click device manager. Right click on your unknown device and click 'update driver software' and then choose your extracted files to scan for the driver

Is my old scanner Canon Lide30 compatible to my Mac OS X laptop?

I'd try the Canon web site, follow links for support and/or downloads, see if there's a Mac driver.

Will they have a upgrade for a windows xp to a windows 7 for a canoscan lide30? also to download?

There is no upgrade available that goes from XP to Win 7, just from Win Vista. There are additional machine requirements as well. Hope this helps!

Canon Lide30 won't work on Windows 7 64 bit. Is there a driver available that will work?

This worked for me: 1) use this link to download the Vista drivers from Canon http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=351&modelid=6623

Download the drivers to their own folder, the right click the install file and select "troubleshoot compatibility"  then click "try recommended settings" a "Start Program" button will appear. click it and watch the taskbar for the UAC icon to flash asking you if you want to allow the drivers to install. Click OK and follow the instructions. Your scanner should work if you follow the set up instructions correctly.

Hope this helps FixYa!

Error message on Canon scanner -there is a twain error, device might not be connected. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium recently upgraded from Vista Home Premium. What do I need to do to be able to use...

Was it all working OK before you upgraded from VISTA? If yes this sounds like a driver problem. Visit the cannon site and download their latest drivers for Win 7 - that is if there are any yet. As an early adoptor of Win 7 you can expect to have issues with hardware drivers where manufacturers have not yet developed them for Win 7. Once Win 7 has been out and about for 12 to 18 months most manufactures will have caught up and issued new drivers.
