4 yr old goodman mod CLQ24-1B trips CB

When I reset the CB the fan turns slowly even when the the ac is off. As soon as I call for the AC to go on the CB trips. I replaced the capacitor and there was no change.

The fan is most likely the problem, the windings in the fan motor are bad, replacement of the fan motor will solve this problem.

In addition when I reset the CB and with the ac thermostat set to off the fan not only turns slowly the compressor repeatedly cycles momentarily. Is it possible there is a problem with the relay? when I set the thermostat for ac the CB trips

I isolated the fan and compressor. The fan runs normally when the compressor is diconnected. When I disconnect the fan and reconnect the compressor, the compressor tries to start and the circuit breaker disconnects. What now? I have read of start assist capacitors, could this work. The temp here is 100 degrees, could that be contributing to the problem?

If you have isolated it to the compressor, either the start capacitor ,or run capacitor for the compressor could be the problem, but do not be fooled,if the compressor is bad,it will pull too many amps, and throw the breaker, most newer models, have start, and run capacitors built together, all in one,do not know if your is or not,but most likely is,check the amp draw on the compressor,to see how many it is drawing,I strongly believe it is the problem.

My goodman furnance will not bow out air only the fan works . what should i do

Check all the easy things first. Check that all the settings on the thermostat are correct for AC. Does the AC unit run? If not check the electrical panel breakers to see if the AC unit breaker is tripped. If it is tripped, reset it. If it continues to trip, call are reputable service company. There are little or no items for "do-it-yourself" unless you have the training and equipment to service AC. Good luck.

Air conditioner just conked out;only 3 yrs old

Is the indoor unit operating? If no turn the fan from auto to on at thermostat. If the fan comes on, that is a sign that you have 24volts
present on thermostat side.

Turn AC unit off outside, turn the thermostat as low as it will go. Open the electrical panel to the outdoor unit. There is a contactor located in the unit, push the plastic bar in the middle of contactor. If it pushes
in, you have low voltage wiring problem from the outdoor unit to the
indoor unit.

If you are skilled or know somebody that is with electrical, turn the power back on to the outdoor unit take a non conductive object and
push the contactor in, the unit may start. If it doesnt start, check the
breaker for the ac unit to make sure it is not tripped.

If the breaker is not tripped and the condensor fan comes on and the
compressor does not come on and the breaker does not trip, then it
is very possible that you will need a new capacitor and while you are
at it put in a hard start kit.

This unit according to you, still should have 2 years left on the compressor warranty.

2003 civic temps go up with ac on

Seems like the a/c radiator fan is not working. Either the fan itself is broken, or the power wires that drive it are not connected. The fan is tripped by a/c compressor activity, and goes through a relay unit, which actually trips the voltage that feed this particular fan. You can check fan activity with car parked, and turning on the a/c . if you cant recognize the louder noise of this fan, stick a straw into the fan to check if it is turning. Careful with fingers.
