My cd burner does not recognize a blank disk to burn. It keeps asking me to insert a blank disk even though I had just put a new blank disc in.

Are you putting the type of CD's it accepts?

Many burners will only accept specific disk types, such as most won't accept RW. That could be the possible issue in this case, what kind of burner are you using? If you post the model I could tell you what kind of disks it accepts.

Dear,
did you disabled the on board vga card then it will work and plug the vga cable on the card. It might be possible you, by mistake, put the connector in the onboard VGA connector.

Abit Support > Main page for the Abit IG-80 motherboard. Click on Manual in the list to the right, the on the next page click on the country nearest yours,

http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?fMTYPE=LGA775&pMODEL_NAME=IG-80

In the small window that comes up, (Opening ig-80_series.zip), click on the circle to the left of Save file, if there is No green dot in the circle.
Then click on OK.

In the small window that comes up on the left, observe what is stated in the top of the window.
This is where the ZIP file will download to.

Now click on Next, Next, and Finish

I have a abit 1c7g motherboard intel 3.2ghz processor twin western digital raptors sata raid 0 config ... 1 sony dru 710a on ide 1 (slave) trying to install plextor 880sa dvd burner having conflict with...

Suggest you connect the plextor to the SATA port 3 and set it's jumper to Master. All SATA drives are seen as Master drives. (Check the serial number on your WD SATA drive "Primary".
Enter the bios menu. Within page 3-7 section 3-3 Advanced bios features. Check, 1st, 2nd and third boot devices.
Floppy disk drive as, 1st boot device. 2nd boot device, "Primary WD SATA port 1". 3rd boot device, CD-ROM drive SATA port 2, Plextor 880sa drive". Save and exit the bios. If you no longer have you're manual you can download it from the link provided below;
http://ftp.abit.com.tw/pub/download/fae/ic7-g_eng_v101.pdf
Check page 3-13. See OnChip serial ATA Mode. As noted, the RAID option is available when the item "OnChip serial ATA" is set as [Enhanced Mode].

Cheers'

Your board shows serial ATA compatibility, I'm pretty sure the Seagate 1.5TB HDD is a serial ATA II device. These are not backwards compatible. Sorry. Hope this helps.

Difference between ata and sata hard disks

ATA, or (PATA) hard drives use the older "seatbelt" 40 or 80 pin ribbon interface cable, whereas SATA is fairly new using the small, thin interface cable found in most computers manafactured in the last 12-18 months, hope it helps
