I have had my sanyo flat screen tv for 1 year. The picture on 4 different stations is "snowy", the rest of the channels are fine. On my Sony DVD player I get audio but no picture. It is also 1 year old.

Hi what channels are you watching is it just through an ariel if so then this might need moving or even enter setup in the telly and adjust the channel freq untill you get good picture

With the dvd player if your using scart leads then push them in properly then you will get picture and also if their is still no picture then press av on telly remote check lead in both ends ie telly and dvd push in hard this could be your problem

These units are close enough to the warranty end period that I would suggest that you contact Sanyo and Sony requesting warranty service. Talk to a supervisor and be persistant. It may take a few calls.
Keep us posted.

Are the snowy channels all together (eg. 4,5,6,7) or are they scattered? A bad ground connection for the cable can cause this although the symptom is usually that a cluster of channels is bad with the rest OK.

    Keep us posted.

sounds like you have a cable connection problem make sure your tv is set to dtv signal in the menu screen. when you scan the channels should be displayed as 12.1 or 8.2 not just a single number if the digital channels are programmed correctly then change the cable coming into the tv from antenna making sure that it isnot crossing any power wires good luck and hope that i helped

Do we have to manually set the pix set key for every station/show we watch? We loose scrolling writing at the top and bottom of the screen on my dad's new 32" lcd tv bought at Wal-mart. When we set...

Thanks for the offer but we cannot afford to pay additional money for something the Factory support service Should provide.

From what we have heard through the Verizon installer, our SANYO LCD TV probably does NOT have a Automatic picture adjust system. That would most likely be the reason for the maunual button on the remote control. The troublle is that with the FIOS service, you do NOT use the TV's remote control. That leaves to switching back and forth between two different remotes wiich can be vary confusing for someone that is not 88 years old.

It is bad enough that you have to remember which channels you have to go to to receive HD programming signals. If I were making a TV set, and or running a TV network/ cable service, I would transmit both HD and regular signals on the same channel number and let the TV and or the decoder box figure out if my set could display High Definition. Isn't that what we spend lots of money buying equipment and paying each month for service?

If anyone out there knows if the SANYO 32 inch LCD TV sold at Wal-Mart automatically adjust to the picute format, (PIX 1-4) we sure ould like to hear from you.

1996 RCA Color TV model G27720tn

If you are on cable, first run the cable wire from the wall directly to the TV, eliminating any cable box and/or VCR. If channel 2 is snowy but the rest (especially 3-6) are clear, it is most certainly a cable problem and not a TV problem. The TV uses the exact same circuits for channel 2 to 6 (VHF-LOW) so if the tuner was bad and 2 was snowy, 3, 4, 5 and 6 would be snowy too. Bring a second TV into that room, disconnect the cable wire from the RCA and connect it to the second TV. Is channel 2 on the second TV as snowy as it was on the RCA?

TV problem

Are you using cable to get the picture? If you are, make sure the TV set is in the cable mode,If it is then you most likely have a bad tuner in your set. Good Luck

Picture is snowy on every channel. I hooked up my playstation and set it to the correct channel but the screen display is the same. I tried using the menu and the menu comes up just fine. The menu goes on...

If one tv looks good and another one dosent look good or operate correctly then we know for sure that the problem is not the antenna. Now the menu comes up ok because the menu is injected after the tuner into the video curcuit from a osd or microprocessor. sounds like you could have a defective tuner or antenna block assy.

Make sure the TV setting is set to or . A power surge may have reset your ?cable-ready? TV. Check the cable setting on your TV and make sure it is set to or . If a VCR is connected: * The VCR needs to be on channel 4. * VCR may not be ?fine-tuned? to channel 4. Locate and adjust the fine-tuning mechanism until the picture comes in clearly. * The <3/4> switch may be in the wrong position. Locate the switch on the back of the VCR and set it to <4>. If a converter is connected: * Make sure the TV is on channel 4. * TV may not be ?fine-tuned? to channel Locate and adjust the fine-tuning mechanism until the picture comes in clearly. * Determine if the converter is bad. Locate the cable wire coming in to the room and connect it directly to the back of the TV. If the picture is clear, your converter needs to be exchanged. Give us a call or stop by your local office and we?ll switch out your equipment. Check the fine-tuning of your TV
