Powerpoint 2002, In dual view, the slides show correctly on audience screen but laptop view remains on first slide so I am unable to read notes for the rest of the presentation. Occasionally the presentation works OK, but mostly it doesn't ? Can you suggest a solution? Many thanks.

I want to open powerpoint presentation.


then, go to format -> slide design, choose to show all documents, and choose the corrupt powerpoint file. now, go to insert -> slides from file, and select the corrupt powerpoint file. make sure you are set to insert all slides, and then import. if that works, great! i suspect, however, that you might crash at that point. if so, try repeating the process, inserting specific slides one by one until you find the problem one. after that, save the file, making sure that fast saves are off (in preferences / save).

How do I view sidebar on Microsoft Powerpoint? I have a Compaq laptop and whenever I open to view a powerpoint only the full slides pop up, but I can't view the sidebar. I don't have Microsoft powerpo


If you don't have powerpoint installed, then you're probably using the free viewer, or it's a power point 'show' (the viewer is built into the presentation). You can print the slides, but not the individual notes or key pages. One thing you could try is if you have a Microsoft/Hotmail/Outlook.com account, you may be able to open it and print from there. I'm able to do it with a regular presentation, but it might be different with a show. To do this, log into Outlook.com, click the menu in the top left corner, and click Power Point Online, then just upload the file you want to open.

How you present the material in a speech can say as much to your audience about your expertise on a subject as the actual content of the speech itself. Microsoft PowerPoint is a powerful multimedia presentation tool capable of producing captivating and informative slideshow presentations. Microsoft PowerPoint is a program that is part of the Microsoft Office suite and has been emulated in open-source programs such as OpenOffice.

Open Microsoft PowerPoint. In Windows computers, PowerPoint can be accessed by clicking "Start," then "All Programs," then the "Microsoft Office" folder. Mac computers will install a link to PowerPoint on the taskbar. Click "Design" and choose one of the templates that open in the design tab. Additional designs can be downloaded from Microsoft.com. Click the area of the slide that says "Click to add title" and type your desired title. This slide is referred to as the title slide. Create a new slide by right-clicking on the title slide and choose the "New Slide" option. Windows users can use the keyboard shortcut by holding "Ctrl+M" with PowerPoint opened. Click the area of the slide that says "Click to Add Title" to add a title or "Click to Add Text" to add text to the slide. Type the information that you would like to display on your presentation in the text box. The text box gives you the option to add text, pictures and tables and even create graphs by clicking on one of the respective icons at the center of the text box. Click on a slide that you would like to add a special transition to and click the "Transitions" tab. Select a transition by clicking on it. Click on a text box that you would like to animate and click the "Animations" tab. Select an animation by clicking on it. Click "File" and "Save" to save the PowerPoint presentation. Open the saved presentation, pressing the "F5" button to open the presentation in full-screen mode.

Name and save your presentation As with any software program, it is a good idea to name and save your presentation right away and then to save your changes frequently while you work:

Add, rearrange, and delete slides The single slide that is provided automatically in your presentation has two placeholders, one formatted for a title and the other formatted for a subtitle. The arrangement of placeholders on a slide is called a layout. Office PowerPoint 2007 also provides other types of placeholders, such as those for pictures and SmartArt graphics.
When you add a slide to your presentation, you can do the following to choose a layout for the new slide at the same time:
  1. On the Slides tab, click just below the single slide that already appears there.
  2. On the Home tab, in the Slides group, click the arrow next to New Slide.

  1. Click the layout that you want for your new slide.

The new slide now appears both on the Slides tab, where it is highlighted as the current slide, and in the Slide pane. Repeat this procedure for each new slide that you want to add.

Tip If you want your new slide to have the same layout that the preceding slide has, you can just click New Slide instead of clicking the arrow next to it.

PowerPoint is a presentation program developed by Microsoft. It is included in the standard Office suite along with Microsoft Word and Excel. The software allows users to create anything from basic slide shows to complex presentations.

PowerPoint is often used to create business presentations, but can also be used for educational or informal purposes. The presentations are comprised of slides, which may contain text, images, and other media, such as audio clips and movies. Sound effects and animated transitions can also be included to add extra appeal to the presentation. However, overusing sound effects and transitions will probably do more to annoy your audience than draw their attention. (Yes, we have all heard the car screeching noise enough times for one lifetime.)

Most PowerPoint presentations are created from a template, which includes a background color or image, a standard font, and a choice of several slide layouts. Changes to the template can be saved to a "master slide," which stores the main slide theme used in the presentation. When changes are made to the master slide, such as choosing a new background image, the changes are propagated to all the other slides. This keeps a uniform look among all the slides in the presentation.

When presenting a PowerPoint presentation, the presenter may choose to have the slides change at preset intervals or may decide to control the flow manually. This can be done using the mouse, keyboard, or a remote control. The flow of the presentation can be further customized by having slides load completely or one bullet at a time. For example, if the presenter has several bullet points on a page, he might have individual points appear when he clicks the mouse. This allows more interactivity with the audience and brings greater focus to each point.

PowerPoint presentations can be created and viewed using Microsoft PowerPoint. They can also be imported and exported with Apple Keynote, Apple's presentation program for the Macintosh platform. Since most people prefer not to watch presentations on a laptop, PowerPoint presentations are often displayed using a projector. Therefore, if you are preparing a PowerPoint presentation for a room full of people, just make sure you have the correct video adapter.

Please click on:
* start
* all program
* Microsoft office
* select MS PowerPoint

You can select the Design you want by click-in on "Design" tab. Pick your themes and click on the template to begin typing the information. Once you completed your first slide and ready for the next slide just right click on the slide panel and select new slide or click on "New Slide" on the Home tab. You can insert charts, pictures, video, and tables. To do so, click on the "Insert" tab to add or adjust. Once completed with your powerpoint you can view it. Click on the slide show tab and select "From Beginning" to view your powerpoint in presentation view mode. You can hit "ESC" at anytime to get out of this view mode. Make sure you save your work while and on completion of your work.

To broadcast your presentation, do the following:
  1. On the Slide Show tab, in the Start Slide Show group, click Broadcast Slide Show.

    • If you want to host your slide show on the service listed under Broadcast Service, skip to the next step.
    • If you want to use some other service to host your slide show, click Change Broadcast Service. Under Choose a broadcast service, select the service that you want to use. For more information about broadcast services, see Choosing a broadcast service.

Note If you do not see the service that you want to use, select Add a new service, and then in the Add Broadcast Service dialog box, enter the network address of the service you want to use and then click Add.

  1. After you select your broadcast service, click Start Broadcast. PowerPoint then creates a URL for your presentation.

PowerPoint Slide Show View Distortion


Well not knowing what is causing the problem, can i suggest a bit of an extreme but very effective method?

You will want to restart your pc before logging into the other account. That will allow you to rename it without problems.
Login to your laptop using an administrator account. Rename your profile to oldprofile.old or similar.

It sounds like its one of those lovely settings Microsoft likes to save in the \applicaiton data\ area of a profile.
