Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Don't think Samsung should be responsible for this as a plasma TV is a very hard working device. It is working harder than any TV that has been built before, and as a result it produces a lot of heat. 75% of technical problems in plasma TV's are caused by overheating problems. You’ll need to check the power supply board first for any swollen/bulged capacitors. As power supply board is the hardest working board in a plasma TV, it develops voltage to supply all components, high current + high voltage. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise & know how to solder/re-solder components as these units contain high voltages even when switched off. This kind of issues in plasmas usually occur after 3-4years. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Hi there,

Well first of all tel us -
Is the power cord firmly inserted in the back of the television?
Have you tried different plugs in the power strip?
How many clicks did you hear?
Anyway most of the times it indicates that there is some problem in the power supply of your TV.

The glass screen on my samsung hp-t4254 is cracked can I just get replacement glass for this tv, and how hard is it to put in?

Hi,
Don't call a repair man just yet at the same time, replacing it yourself is a gamble. Before you repair or pay $300+ for the replacement of which, please try these steps below. You'll be needing a Petroleum Jelly and an Eyeglasses Cloth.
  1. Turn on the TV. If the TV doesn't turn on, if you feel a wetness around the crack in the screen or if the picture isn't coming in properly, do not attempt to fix the TV yourself. Take it to a professional.
  2. Turn the screen off and unplug the TV if the TV appears to be in working order except for the crack.
  3. Apply a thick coat of petroleum jelly to the crack. Rub it in slowly and thoroughly with a clean eyeglasses cloth.
  4. Reapply the petroleum jelly and rub off again, if necessary.

Can't get my samsung hp-t4254 42" plasma tv to

make shure that the computer is set up to display on the screen. To check and see right click on your desktop, click on the option that says screen resolution, and then change your settings from their. The tv will not register that you have a computer plugged into it if the computer is not sending the tv a signal.

Samsung hp-t4254 plasma

Hi Rickpo:
After installing the $11 kit and the additional $13 kit recommended by (http://preher-tv.blogspot.com/2010/01/samsung-hpt4254-no-power-repaired.html) mostly surface mount diodes (also available on Ebay), the Samsung HP-T4254 came back on, but would only play for 4 minutes. I found DX801 flowing both directions, replaced it with a diode from Fry's. Works great, $26 total repair costs :-)
