Xerox Phaser 6250N Jam at Registration Roller

Dear Canonman,
My Xerox Phaser 6250N (not the 6250DP) is giving me the error, "Jam at registration roller." When I checked the paper path, I found one piece of paper that I removed in its entirety, without ripping or tearing.  The error still shows up.  I turned off the printer and restarted it, and I still get the error.  What can I do to solve this?  I'm told there's a technical bulletin regarding this particular issue.  Could you please send it to me?  My email is rj248842@hotmail.com.  Thank you so much.

    Hi,

    I am having a very simular issue with a Phaser 7700DN.Cannot clear error message "JAM at FUSER".I went as far as replacing the fuser.At the initial start-up after installing new fuser,unit begin printing a demo page and that is as far as I got.So I am back to square one.

    Im having the same problem...no paper jam but the error sign keeps appearing. I have turned the machine on and off. I have removed and put back everything. Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

    I have been having all sorts of Jamming issues with my 6250DP- ready to get a new printer because of it. Today I had a really big print job (1000 prints, mostly double sided.) Printer was jamming at fuser in the same spot over and over (every 2-3 prints) half way on the intake of the second side... VERY FRUSTRATING. I was printing from Acrobat.

    This is how I "fixed" it... Double Sided full color documents I printed on glossy and had no jams. Single Sided full color I printed on double sided and had no problems. Single sided Letters from Word (little color and saturation) prints fine.

    It appears that the speed of this printer is it's problem. When I "slow things down" (glossy paper or printing double sided on a single sided document) it works fine.

    Do I need to continue these work arounds or is there a part that needs to be replaced?

    Similar Problem. I have a Fuji Xerox 6200 and some address labels have attached themselves to the large roller on the imager unit.

    I need to know what type of liquid can I use to remove them gently.. or another solution.

    The imager is only about 2 months old..

I tried the patch and still have the problems... replace the fuser, still have the problems.

Jam at registration roller?


I can tell you "exactly" where your jam is !

If you open the top cover and remove the imaging unit. Look straight down, and you will see a black rubber roller about 8 inches long. this is the registration roller. If you remove the four screws (two on the left side, one in the middle, and one on the right) and gently lift up your wrinkled paper will be right there. Since your are not replacing the registration assembly you do not need to remove the two connectors that attach to the main board from the registration assembly. Just remove the paper, reseat unit, and put back screws. There is a test to see if your unit has the fix that gives the drive assembly a little more power to aviod jams in the future. This is a software fix.
I believe it's available on the xerox website as a postscript snippet. xx.ps

Are you referring to the upper roller in the front of the machine ? Under the stainless steel assembly? If so, it is very likely you snapped the black actuator in the registration assembly. You have to order then entire assembly to repair it.
Believe me, it happens, Oh yeah, it happens, its easy to break without realizing you have.

Same Xerox 6250 whine and paper jam


Search xerox.com or tektronix.com for 6250FMSFix.psx, which is the driver to fix the fuser stall problem. When we downloaded the file 4 years ago, there was no link to the correct page. We had to do a google search on the site to find it. Other key words you might look for are "fuser", "stall", and "snippet". There is a FuserReadme.txt file that goes with this. It tells you how to put the file into the printer with ftp (that sounds safe; you did change the administrator password, didn't you?).

Are the tabs in those D shaped rollers broke?
They will snap off into the shaft, but still be on the shaft. Not uncommon.
reach in and hold the steel shaft with one hand and see of those rollers spin freely. If so the plastic pins inside the roller have broken. It is not uncommon on that machine. Pop one off and see if there is a plastic pin inside the roller.

That problem is the registration clutch.
You have to order the registration assembly to get the clutch. It is located on assembly with the black and stainless steel roller, you have to pop out the imaging unit to see it.
But that WILL fix your problem. They changed the style of clutch also. It is more reliable now.

Jams at registration roller!!


Jams at the registration roll often come from one of the pickup rollers breaking a pin that keeps them in place on the feed shaft. They are D shaped rollers about midway back when you remove the tray.
They will be stopped in different positions.

Paper jams


Check to see if there is anything stopping the paper like a small piece of paper/paperclip.
Also see if the reg rollers are turning.
I DO HAVE A FULL SERVICE MANUAL FOR THIS MACHINE ON DISK AVAILABLE
