Question about American Standard 1340.225.002 Chrome Metering Centerset

Wont turn off

Hi, the metered faucets I just installed are having a problem with sticking in the "on" possition. I have to actually take apart the handle and actuator assembly to get it to turn off. Is there a trick with lube, or mechanical, that you can suggest? have already adjusted the cycle times.

Metering faucets rely on water pressure running through extremely small pilot holes to close off the water supply. If the set was operating correctly and then developed this problem the most likely culprit is one of the pilot holes has become clogged leaving the fixture to run constantly. If the fixture never worked properly it may be defective. Uninstall it and return it to the place of purchase for a replacement fixture. If you don't believe the unit to be defective it will have to be taken apart and blown out with compressed air. Reassemble and test the fixture. It is best if you can get a schematic of the model you purchased so that you can see how it comes apart and goes together. This can help to avoid a lot of frustration.

The thread that helps tighten the faucet has come apart from the faucet. I cant see back there to rethread the piece into the faucet so I can tighten the nut.

turn valve water off. Quickest fix is buy new plastic sink faucet nut and sink nut removal/installation tool from Lowe's or Home Depot. Take off old and install new. Turn valve water on and done.

Spout leaking on moen kitchen faucet

Remove the rubber O ring (turn off Water supply at meter first), then take your O ring to the hardware store to obtain a new one. You may have to stretch the new ring under hot wster before installation, If you do not feel comfortsble doing this yourself, call an expert.

Water Ridge Nannini series pull out kitchen faucet rotating at base instead of where it should.

I just fixed our Nannini from Costco. The screens were plugged with plastic filings coming from our water lines. On our faucet there is more than one screen.
The pull out faucet has the basic screen like 99% of the taps out, right on the end. It comes apart by first unscrewing it from the handle and gently (gently) nudging the screen out with a sharp object such as a pairing knife.
Then in the handle was where the problem lay with mine. There was a plastic knob which is recessed in the handle. Leave the hose connected and pull it out until it is stretched or have a helper, then press on that small knob, pull and the whole inside will pull out. There is another filter in there. I was able to take mine apart and clean it, yes it does pop apart but be careful. In assembling mine I just left out the second filter totally.
I guess in hindsite you wouldn't have to actually take the whole handle apart if one has a 90 degree tool to pull out the yellow plastic piece. I used an allen wrench and pulled. Cleaned it with a small needle.

Works better than new!

Sticking of KWC DOMO model faucet.

I would definitely take it apart to find out what is causing it to bind, that is not normal. Make sure that you turn your water supply lines off under the sink, via angle/strait stops. From under the faucet there is one or two nuts fastening the faucet to the counter, they are usually screwed on just a little more than hand tight. The problem may not be fixable, so be prepared to replace the faucet.

The rubber gasket is bad inside the facet. Turn off the water at the meter, and take apart the hydrant and replace the small rubber gasket inside the valve that seal the water flow!

I have a Delta shower faucet model number 1324 and my shower head is leaking How do I get the faucet part apart I have a diagram, but actually looking at the insides it all looks like one piece I don't...

Hi Shannon:

The problem is most likely the seats and springs. You should purchase Delta Part # RP4993. I found some for mine at Lowe's for around $4.00. O-rings are available there too for about $2.00, and you probably should go ahead and replace them as well, especially if they feel dry and brittle.

You have to remove the handle, then unscrew the brass ring (or bonnet) with a pipe wrench, then just pull the cartridge straight out. Separate the lower cartridge from the upper by twisting a quarter turn to the left. Once separated, remove the black rubber seats and springs and install the new.
