If you are logged in as any other user, then the administrator has set up restrictions on the control. So to send photos and other data log in as administrator or ask the administrator to give full control to others user.

Thanks.......

If the Windows 98 computer does not have a USB port and you cannot copy the photos onto a floppy disk or burn the photos to a CD then the only option is the following.
Remove the hard disk and connect it to a USB hard drive adapter and then plug this into a USB port of a working computer. This computer will see this as an external storage device, you can then open the various folders and copy your photos to this computer or to a USB flash drive.

You would access it from My Computer like your normal harddrive. Note if the removable drive is showing up in My Computer then this is a sign that another device is already been assigned to the drive your USB drive wants by default. The links below will help you assign a drive letter to the USB drive.

How do I capture images on my lenovo S10/Windows XP screen? (usage instructions) cruzer SDCZ36-004G-A11

Step 1: Insert your flash drive into your computer’s USB port.
Step 2: You may be presented with a window open that says “Auto Play
If this is the case, simply click on “Open folder to view files”. If you don’t have this window automatically open, open “My Computer”, locate and double-click on the appropriate device to open.
Most flash drives will be labelled as a Removable Disk but some will be labelled as a hard drive. If you have troubles locating your device, remove the flash drive from your computer, open “My Computer” and take note of the drives and devices already there, then reinsert your flash drive into the USB port and watch for a new device to appear. Take note of the name Windows uses to label the flash drive, Removable Disk (F:), for example. Double-click to open.
Step 3: Open the location of the photos and/or folders you wish to transfer to the other computer.
Step 4: Select the photos and/or folders. To select multiple images or folders, hold down the Ctrl key while making your selections.
Step 5: Right-click on your selection, choose “Send To” and then the appropriate destination (in my case, Removable Disk (F:). Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop your photos or folders into the opened flash drive folder, so long as both windows are seen on your computer’s monitor.
Step 6: Once your files have been moved over to the flash drive, click on the “Safely Remove Hardware” icon located in the notification area (bottom right corner of your computer’s monitor).
Select the device and click “Stop”. You may have another window open asking you to confirm which devices to stop.
Select the device from the list and click “OK”. You’ll then be prompted that it is safe to remove the device.

How do i transfer photos from my hp photosmart m537 camera to sandisk cruzer micro usb 2.0 flash drive 2gb.

Connect the HP camera to your windows pc using the usb cable provided. Open My Computer to ensure that the camera is being properly enumerated (given a hard disk letter). make note of the drive letter assigned.

If you have more than one USB port, insert your cruzer micro 2.0 stick into another USB port. Look in my computer again to determine what drive letter was assigned to the flash stick. Open a windows explorer window for each of the locations. One for the camera, the other for the flash stick. Its likely that the picture files are in a subfolder of a folder called DCIM.

Once you locate the files you want to transfer, you can highlight them using the mouse (click/drag a box around the files you want) and drag them to the other open window (flash stick folder)

If you don't have another available USB slot on the compter, you'll need to copy the files from the camera to a temporary location on your computer and then move them to the flash drive. In this case, make a new folder on the desktop and name it temporaryfiles. open that folder. open the drive letter assigned to the camera and copy whatever files you want from the camera to 'temporaryfiles'...

Then power off the camera and remove the usb cord from the computer. attach the flash disk to the newly free'd up usb port and open a windows explorer window to it. drag whatever files you want from 'temporaryfiles' folder into the folder for the flash stick.

I hope this helps!

How do I get started using a USB flash drive and how do I set up a security system?

hey, heres something that would help u:  Copying files to a flash drive on a PC:
  1. Open My Computer and see which drives are shown. Most computers, for example, have a hard disk such as a C: drive and a few removable storage devices such as a floppy drive, a CD-ROM drive, and perhaps a zip drive.
  2. Insert the flash drive into the USB port and watch to see where the USB flash drive appears. Most will appear as removable storage, but some will instead appear as hard drives. Note the name Windows is using to refer to the flash drive ("Removable Disk (G:)," for example).
  3. Open My Documents or the location from which you want to transfer files to the flash drive. Select the files or folders you want to save to the flash drive by left-clicking on them. To select more than one, hold down the CTRL key while you click and select all of the files you wish to save.
  4. Right-click on the file(s) or folder(s) you selected, then select Send to, then select the name you saw appearing in My Computer for the flash drive ("Removable Disk (G:)," for example).
  5. When the copying is finished, do not immediately remove the flash drive from the USB port. Instead, left-click on the Remove Hardware icon toolbar.gif located in the System Tray. A window containing a list of the USB devices will appear. Left-click on the Safely Remove Mass Storage Device line that matches your flash drive (for example, Safely Remove Mass Storage Device - Drive(G:)).
  6. When you see the following message appear in the bottom left toolbar, it is, as it says, safe to remove the flash drive from the USB port; you may close the message or ignore it, as it will close itself automatically:

USB flash disk not working

Assuming you are using a Cruzer Micro Drive with U3 Smart, things can be a little confusing because the drive actually shows up as two independent devices. When you insert the drive, there should be two devices showing up in your list of drives. One of them is installed as a CD Rom Drive and the other one is a Removable Drive. If you double click on the CD Rom Drive instead of the Removable Drive and you don't have any U3 applications mapped to the CD Rom Drive, then you'll get an insert disk message because Windows thinks that the CD Rom Drive is empty. Just use the Removable Drive if you want to simply install and transfer files.
