Question about Bunn Pour-O-Matic VPR

I cleaned out the unit with 50/50 vinegar and water. I cycles 4 more times with just water. Now the the coffee comes out all diluted (looks like tea).

Check the filter basket and the used coffee grounds, if they are not all saturated then it could be the sprayhead.

Owned this coffee maker for 14 mos. At first you'd turn the brew switch and the brew cycle would start. Over time you'd turn the brew switch and it would take awhile. Now who knows when it will start.


Over time, Calcium will deposit on the tubes and containers which get in touch with water. Try Decalcifying with Designated Products.
Usually, you do this by diluting the product, fill up the water reservoir, and cycle on the machine, without cofee of course,
Pour out the water. It will probably look troubled.
If the water does not start percolating, just let the water reservoir stand with the decalcification product for about 30 mins. don't leave it in overnight, because these products are slightly caustic to remove the Calcium, but it could damage parts if left in the machine overnight.

Repeat the process until the water starts running faster.
don't forget to rinse with regular water. 2 Cycles rinsing should suffice.
See manual for suggested products or just use 1/4 cup of Vinegar diluted with Water. .

How do I get a manual for my Mr Coffee BVMCPSTX91-WN? the clean light is on and I don't how how to clean it or how to get the light off

The Clean light will come on when the Clean button is held. It won't go off until the cleaning cycle is complete; it's completely automated. You need 4 cups (20 oz.) of white vinegar or the Mr. Coffee Cleaner (diluted as directed on the package). Make sure to remove the water filter disk from the unit before cleaning. Pour the vinegar or cleaning solution into the reservoir into the reservoir. Put in a paper coffee filter or the permanent filter into the brew basket and slide it into place. Put the empty decanter in place. Now you should press the Clean button until the Clean light comes on. The unit should slow brew 3 cups of the cleaning solution and then pause for about 30 minutes while the Clean light remains on. It should then brew the remaining solution. After the cycle finishes, the Clean light should go off. Afterwards, you need to empty the decanter and rinse it with clean water. Fill the reservoir with fresh, clean water. Then replace the decanter. The cycle could take an hour.

My Cuisinart DCC-1200 takes a long time to brew now, the coffee is weak, and the self-clean button flashes each time. I've had it for about 4 years.


Over time, Calcium will deposit on the tubes and containers which get in touch with water.
The calcium can also impact the function of the Heating elements in the percolator tube.

Try Decalcifying with Designated Products.
Usually, you do this by diluting the product, fill up the water reservoir, and cycle on the machine, without cofee of course,
Pour out the water. It will probably look troubled.
If the water does not start percolating, just let the water reservoir stand with the decalcification product for about 30 mins. don't leave it in overnight, because these products are slightly caustic to remove the Calcium, but it could damage parts if left in the machine overnight.

Repeat the process until the water starts running faster and/or gets hotter.
don't forget to rinse with regular water. 2 Cycles rinsing should suffice.
See manual for suggested products or just use 1/4 cup of Vinegar diluted with Water per caraffe. It will smel like vinegar while you do this, as the vinegar evaporates with some of the steam.

I would repeat this process every month or so if you use your machine daily.

How do I run the clean cycle?


I assume you mean descaling the coffee maker when the Clean indicator flashes after a brewing cycle. You can use a packaged descaling product or white vinegar. For the packaged descaling agent, follow the package directions for the ratio of product and water. If you are using vinegar, fill the carafe with a 50:50 mixture of water and vinegar.

Remove the water filter and remove any coffee and coffee filter from the brew basket. Make sure the unit is plugged in and turned on. Pour the descaling mix from the carafe into the water tank and then place the carafe in the coffee maker. You have 10 seconds to program the cleaning mode or the unit will return to the standby mode. The next step depends on the type of carafe. For a machine with the glass carafe, press Mode 6 times. Otherwise for a unit with the thermal carafe, press Mode 5 times. The Clean indicator will blink. Press Program/Set followed by the + or - button to select Clean On. Press and hold Program/Set until you hear the beep. Press Brew and wait for the cycle to complete (the Clean indicator will go off). Then do two brewing cycles with water but no coffee or coffee filter. Discard the fluid from the coffee maker from all three cycles. Wash the brew basket and then reinstall the water filter.

If you notice an odd taste to the coffee when you next brew some, do at least one more rinse with water (remove the water filter and coffee grounds/filter).

My keurig says I need to descale.How?


Descaling depends the size of the reservoir. I see the B60 but not the B66 at the Keurig site. The two units are apparently the same from searching the support side of the Keurig site: http://www.keurig.com .

For the Mini coffee makers, you use 20 oz of vinegar (2 10 oz cycles). For the larger Keurig units, it takes 48 oz of vinegar.

In either case, fill the reservoir with vinegar and put a large ceramic (12 oz mug for the mini unit) mug on the drip tray. Do not add a K-cup. For the B60 (and probably the B66), press the Brew button. Discard the vinegar after the cycle. Repeat the brew process until Add Water is indicated. Discard the vinegar each time. Then wait 4 hours with the unit on. Discard the remaining vinegar and rinse the reservoir. Fill the reservoir with 48 oz of water and brew several cups without a K-cup until the "Add water" message appears. Discard the water in the mug each time. Repeat the vinegar cleaning if De-scale still appears in the LCD. Run more water without the K-cup if you notice a remaining taste in the coffee after the rinse procedure.

For the mini, fill the reservoir with 10 oz of water, lift the Brewer handle and lower it after 5 seconds with no K-cup in the unit. Press the Brew button. Discard the vinegar after the cycle. After the first cycle, pour the other 10 oz of vinegar into the Cold Water Reservoir. Lift the handle and lower it after 5 seconds. Press the Brew button and wait until the light becomes steady. When vinegar starts to be dispensed, power off the unit. Wait 30 minutes. Then power on the unit and lift and lower the handle again. Then discard the vinegar after the cycle. Next run 4 rinse brew cycles with 10 oz of water each time. Discard the water each time. The unit should be ready to brew with a K-cup after the 4 rinse cycles.

Most coffee pots are cleaned by running 1 part white vinegar and 1 part water. Just put in the reservoir and run a cycle. Once completed, run again with 1/2 pot of water only and it will clean it. If you use your pot daily, this should be done once every few months. If you have foul tasting coffee, you should use bottled water to rectify that. Plain tap water has minerals that dilute the taste of the coffee and over time build a residue in your pot.

How to descale


Use 1/2 cup white vinegar in 1 quart water. No need to let it sit. After descaling, remember to run at least 3 cycles with clean water to remove any vinegar.

Machine takes a long time for first cup to come out then sometimes only half as much water as used to comes out


mcdevito75 here, sounds like your coffee maker needs cleaning, after 20--30 cups of coffee made it does. Fill the decanter with white vinegar, clean or place new filter in the machine and cycle the white vinegar thru 3 times, on the 3rd time time thru stop the machine for 30 minutes, then resume that cycle. Now clean or replace the filter again and cycle thru regular water 3--4 times the get rid of all the vinegar, machine shouls be fine now.

Hi, the coffee is coming out a lot slower than it used to. i don't see where there's a blockage..what do you think it is?


The chances are that you have a build up of minerals in the water heating unit. Generally, this can be cleared by running a cup of vinegar through the unit a couple to times. Put in filter, pour the cup of vinegar in the reservoir, turn on the unit, When the unit has completed the cycle and brewed the vinegar, empty the used vinegar, repeat the process. run at least two cycles with clean water to clear the vinegar taste. This should solve the problem. This process should be repeated at least once every 30 cups of coffee brewed. This frequency will depend on the amount of minerals in your water. For stubborn mineral deposits use CLR (brand name) in place of the vinegar.

No brewing


probley needs cleaned! i use a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and distilled water. run the machine as you would if making coffee. may have to repeat the process a few times.remember after cleaning to run a few cycles of clean water to clear the system
