Question about HP Pavilion s7310n (EN996AA) PC Desktop
When i power on my HP pavilion s7301n i get a found new hardware prompt. It tries to install drivers for a scsi/raid host controller that fails. In the task manager it shows an exclamation mark over the controller and under that it has this identifier...a7dpmlyg. In the details it shows code 39. I have tried finding the drivers, uninstalling and locating the drivers, rolling back the drivers, and a system restore. I have noticed since it started doing this that my keyboard will fail all together, work only once windows fully loaded, once windows fully loaded and keyboard working the q r t y will not work. I run XP service pack 3, the system is just like it was from the factory except for replacing the power supply a couple years back. Please anyone have any ideas on this?
hp.com has no driver page. now.
end of life for that and XP for 3 years now.
join the HP.forum

If you don't run raid, remove the drivers and link to the controller. If you do, the driver may be corrupt. Try running a registry cleaning programme like Advanced System Care.

Don't buy anything just yet. The HP software for your Pavilion a1220n is listed on HP's sit for free. If you want you can download all the driver software & burn it to a CD/DVD.
Driver for the SM Bus Controller which is your chiset drivers are here as:

The best way to deal with the outdated HP update is to have an online chat with HP support - it is their software and their machine that is causing you problems. If you go to the support page for your machine, you should be able to find "Contact HP" at the bottom of the page. This should lead you to an online chat option, which I would suggest to be the best way to deal with the uninstall issue. Even if you locate the proper driver through device manager, this will not solve the uninstall problem. HP techs have numerous tools available to them that they do not share with us as users of their products...
As an alternative, if you have system restore turned on, I would recommend going to a restore point prior to the time the driver (sp) was installed. This would solve the uninstall problem, if there is a working restore point available to you. Of course, we all know that doesn't always work either, but it works more often than not, so long as the function is enabled. Then you may choose to contact HP for the proper driver, or seek it out.
In order to search for a newer driver, you should take note of the version that was installed by the HP sp (which you could try to reinstall just in case the download was faulty). After making sure you are aware of the exact equipment and the driver that did not function properly, it is generally useful to obtain the driver from the manufacturer directly if possible. There are other alternatives with MS update catalog, or with several web products which will scan your system and update drivers for you. If you wish to pursue these and need more assistance along those lines, please post back.
If this information assists you in resolving the problem, please take a moment to rate the solution at a "FixYa" level. If you do not feel that you can rate at a "FixYa", please post back with more information regarding what has occurred subsequently and/or more details regarding the situation, and I will gladly help you until we have reached a definitive solution. Thank you for using and rating FixYa!

SOURCE: Raid 0 on Intellistation 6221?
That particular work station comes with both IDE and SCSI drive interface controllers. The IDE drive should be used for your OS. The SCSI drives for your data storage. Now, the issue is to get the SCSI to work in RAID_0 as I understand.
You iwll need a RAID controller such as Adaptec AHA-3940AU WD SCSI Host Controller, which may be found on eBay (used) for a very affordable price. The driver software may be downloaded directly from Adaptec, so I suggest you do that in the iterim peroid, and store drivers on a USB thumb drive.
Hope this helps you.

Believe it or not, it's due to a weak power supply. More specifically, weak voltage rail/s caused by failing Electrolytic Capacitors.
A bad computer power supply is about 70% of computer failure.
ALL the light use less than 1 Watt. EACH fan uses 2 to 3 Watts.
A processor uses 55 to 125 Watts. Depends on the make and model.
Since the power supply is weak, it doesn't have enough power to turn the processor on.
No processor, nothing to find the Boot record on the harddrive. Nothing to get the Operating System going. (Example: Windows XP)
No computer running, there is no signal to the monitor.
Just enough power to light lights, and spin fans.

Code "purple" means you and your computer are done. It is an unrecoverable error that means you need a new system. However, I have found a couple of postings that claim to know a fix. I can not verify these methods, I do not own a HP or other type of prefab PC (custom is the only way to go). Anyway, here are the links, good luck.
