Question about Sharp AR-5316 Advanced Digital Imager Copier
I have the copier machine Sharp AR-5127, the error code U2-40 appears and coping cannot be done. I tried what you wrote before but it didn't work
I don't have a [Image Quality] key. I have [Auto Image] key and 14 can be entered directly without pressing 10 + 1 + 1 + 1 +1
SOLUTION: ERROR MESSAGE U2-40, SHARP COPIER AR-5127
PRESS ENTER BUTTON (the button for making photocopy)
PRESS 'OK' TWICE
Note: be fast in pressing all the buttons.

Uf that doesnt work try replacing the toner cartridge.Frequently the microchip on the back of the toner cartridge fails or does not seat well.
Try a toner cartridge. That will most likely cure if a reset 14 wont. Yeah the auto image key is the same. Just the process I posted is for a different version of the same machine.

To clear U2 codes, try this: pound key, star key, clear key (not clear all), star key, punch in 1 and 6 (as in 16), start key, answer yes, start key and wait a moment or two. We have a Sharp MX M450U at the office. My service tech said UR codes are a motherboard glitch and this will clear them. At least it worked for him when he showed me how to do it.

U2-40 is a board error, F1-15 is finisher lift motor error.
To reset: #, interrupt, clear, interrupt. (screen should say service mode), enter 16, print, are you sure? , yes.
For the finisher error, follow above procudure, entering 14 instead of 16. if error returns, disconnect the finisher
