I don't think the timer runs on 240 volts does it? You can switch 240, but the timer uses 120 volts to run. You might check the connections and timer clock rating more closely. Also, the 'off' & 'on' trippers are different, make sure you use the right one.

SOURCE: i can only find the

Intermatic posts manuals in Spanish and English, but not every manual is available.
Here are some choices.

1) Add a comment with timer model number and I'll find manual and post link if manual is available.

2) Go to Intermatic manual page below. Use 'Find' feature on browser (click Edit > Find) to locate model number quickly on page. Manual search takes you to individual manuals or to a product page. When page comes up model numbers show in a vertical row > click model number to view drop-down menu for links to manuals.
Not every manual is available.

3) All else fails, use google translate. I re-wrote and posted GE yard stake manual today using translator. Enter whole sentences into translator > no need to translate word by word anymore.

Here's outdoor GE timer translated from Spanish using google translate:

5) Add a comment and post link where you found Spanish version of manual (as long as it's not a free-manual-with-spyware website) and I'll locate English manual if possible -or- translate manual for you, and post result next day or so.

I need to know how to set this timer for a large swimming pool, and how long I need it to run, to keep it clean. I believe it is about 35,000 gals., in-ground pool.

You have Intermatic mechanical timer connected to swimming pool pump/filter.
Open following link to read about setting timer:
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/How-to-operate-and-set-T104-timer.pdf
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-T104-Intermatic-timer.html
Lift and rotate dial until current time is lined up with stationary pointer.
Put on-off trippers on outer edge of dial.
Timer comes with 2 sets of trippers, and you can order replaceable trippers. Up to 12 sets of trippers can be added to dial for a total of 12 ON and 12 OFF events each 24-hour period.
For 35000 gallon, pump should run at least 6 hours each 24-hour period. During freezing weather, if pipes are above ground, you can remove trippers from dial, set override lever to ON position, and run pump 24-hours to prevent frozen pipes.

I have intermatic TN311 MODEL TIMER IDK HOW 2 WORK I WANT IT TO COME ON AND OFF FOR 15 MIN EVERY HOUR FOR 12 ORS A DAY IS THAT POSSIBLE AND HOW

Open following link to identify TM311 timer:
http://www.amazon.com/Intermatic-TN311C-Heavy-Grounded-Timer/dp/B00002N5FO

1) First of all, you would need more turquoise 107TN222 ON and red 107TN221 OFF trippers.

2) BUT big problem is that TN311 time dial is divided into half-hour segments, so minimum on-off is probably 1 hour since it takes 2 trippers for on-off cycle, and width of 2 trippers is same width as 1 hour.

3) Open following link for plug-in timers with 15 minute segments shows Woods 49664 & Stanley 31192 & Sylvania SA110
http://waterheatertimer.org/Woods-timers-and-manuals.html#49664

4) Notice the 49664 dial, that each hour is represented by 4 segments. This says timer on-off period is 15 minutes.

To set this timer, you would pull up all segments around the dial, and then push down 1 segment for each hour that you want timer to turn on for 15 minutes.

5) TN311 has 3 prong grounded outlet, Woods 49664 has 2-prong outlet.

6) Stanley 31192 timer and Sylvania SA110 have 3-prong grounded outlets and 15 minute intervals.

7) You cannot accomplish 15 minutes intervals for 12 periods a day with programmable digital timer.
Most digital timers allow 1 minute program times, but are limited to 6 or 7 programs, and not the 12 separate on-off periods needed for your project.

Looking for a timer to turn a 120volt 2amp water pump on for 1min 2 times aday that will last for more than 3 years please help

1) You need 120V timer to control 2 amp water pump.
V x A = watts so 120V x 2amp = 240 watt
754 watts per HP divided by 240W = 1/3 HP horsepower.

2) To get 1 minute time periods, you need electronic timer.
Most electronic timers have minimum 1 minute set time.
Same schedule each day, you can use 356-day, 7-day or 24-hour electronic timer.

3) To have electronic timer last longer than 3 years you need a clean circuit and expensive timer.
Use circuit analyzer to check circuit. Hire electrician to check circuit and replace pump if necessary to make sure timer will last as long as possible.

4) Intermatic ET70115C should last for many years. Battery is replaced every 8 years.

ET70115C $379
http://www.1000bulbs.com/product/3391/ELEC-ET70115C.html

5) You posted under EH10 water heater timer, which is inexpensive water heater timer rated for 1HP. You can't expect inexpensive timer to last as long when using a motor, although 1/3 HP is lightweight motor.

6) You can buy five EH10's for same price as one ET70115C.

7) List of ordinary electronic timers, each with slightly different features

Do not know how to set timer DT300 for Lights

Hi

Programming:
Set present time
Then set ON time for program 1
Set OFF time for program 1
Then set ON time for program 2
Set OFF time for program 2
Most timers will not function if there is a conflict in programming > for example Program 1 says ON at 6 and OFF at 7 and Program 2 says opposite or has overlapping times
When events are set, press SET once > this will put timer in RUN mode

If manual override works, and you set programming correctly, but timer does not carry out instructions, I guess the timer is no good.

Intermatic has 24 hour timers with 2 on-off per day
http://www.intermatic.com/products/timers/consumer%20indoor%20timers/lamp%20%20appliance%20timers.aspx
Intermatic has 7-day digital timers (all digital timers today are 7 day where you select the day that each program works)
http://www.intermatic.com/products/timers/consumer%20indoor%20timers/digital%20timers.aspx

Thanks.

Have the timer set on Auto but lights are not on during the ON period. Also do I need to set times for all 7 periods?

No, you do not need to set all 7 timer events.
When event1 ON and event1 OFF are set, press CLOCK button to exit programming and save programs. Or press PROGRAM button and move to event2 ON and event2 OFF. Exit programming any time by pressing clock button.
http://www.intermatic.com/products/timers/consumer%20outdoor%20timers/digital%20timers/hb88rc.aspx

That being said, if events conflict with each other, timer will not operate.
For example event1 ON FR at 7pm and event1 OFF all-days at 11pm.
The days have to match for on-off times.

Another example event1 ON FR at 7pm and event1 OFF FR 11pm, but event2 ON all days 8pm event2 OFF all days 10pm. This overlap will cause timer to skip programs.

If timer is being used in random mode, timer programs cannot be closer than 1/2 hour apart.

When programming is done, press clock button to display current time.
Timer should be ready to go.
Manual is fuzzy at this point, and does not specifically say, but it appears that you only press MODE button when you want to set another mode beside auto.
I e-mailed Intermatic last week about this unclear spot because several folks are writing in about this timer not going into correct MODE after programs are set.
MODE must be set to automatic
Press MODE button once for manual override function
Press MODE again and RDM displays for random >> this is for lights turning on randomly when on vacation.
Press MODE button third time, and AUTO shows on display >> you want timer in AUTO for timer programs to operate.
Here's the trick ... after setting MODE to auto, press clock button to display current time

If timer will not enter AUTO, then timer is defective.
If Intermatic sends response that is pertinent to your question, I will post again on this thread.
Add a comment any time, and I will respond.

On my intermatic HB88RC,I replaced the battery because it was dead and now it shows 44:44 on the display can this be reset?

http://www.intermatic.com/products/timers/consumer%20outdoor%20timers/digital%20timers/hb88rc.aspx

HB88RC is 7-day plug-in digital outdoor timer that uses AA battery installed on back of timer to power the display.
People write to fixya frequently report Intermatic timer stops working after replacing battery.

To check if your timer is still functional:
Press and hold clock button.
Press Day button until current day shows in display.
Press Hour until current hour shows in display
Press MIN until current minute show in display
Release clock button.

If current time shows in display, then timer is probably still good.

To set programs:
step 1) Press PROG button until 1 and ON show on display.
This is program1 ON.
Press day button until choice of days shows for program1 ON
Press hour until hour for program1 ON shows
Press MIN until minute for program1 ON shows.

step 2) Press PROG button until 1 and OFF show on display
This is program1 OFF.
Press day button until choice of days shows for program1 OFF
Press hour until hour for program1 OFF shows
Press MIN until minute for program1 OFF shows.

step 3) Press PROG button until 2 and ON show on display
Repeat steps above to set program2 thru program7

step 4) When programs are set, press CLOCK button to return to current time

I have digital programmable timers (Model DT121 and Model DT11) that will accept programs, but won't turn the attached lamps on and off at the programed times. The batterys are new and I've had them...

DT121 Manual
http://www.intermatic.com/~/media/files/intermatic/products/instructions/timers/dt121c%20-%20english.ashx

All Intermatic manuals
http://www.intermatic.com/customer%20service/instruction%20manuals.aspx

Intermatic does not show DT11
Intermatic shows the DT121 is no longer available

If the display shows and you can set programs, then the battery is good.
Does the manual override work? This indicates whether the timer on-off switch operates.
If manual override does not work, then I discovered that timers are no longer any good

Programming:
Set present time
Then set ON time for program 1
Set OFF time for program 1
Then set ON time for program 2
Set OFF time for program 2
Most timers will not function if there is a conflict in programming > for example Program 1 says ON at 6 and OFF at 7 and Program 2 says opposite or has overlapping times

I want a programmable timer that can, eg, switch on a single phase electric motor for 10 seconds every hour. It may be 9 secs or 11 secs.

You need a programmable interval timer.

http://waterheatertimer.org/Intermatic-timers-and-manuals.html#ET70
Intermatic and Tork make digital timers with interval settings that can be set for specific short-duration with 1 minute minimum.
(Or set to pulse bell ringing with 1-127 seconds.
10 minutes is 600 seconds)
For example ET70115 single-channel timer.
The timer would be set for 24-hour operation, and then programmed for Pulse, and then set timer with 24 programs, with 1 program for each hour.

Mechanical cycle timers from Intermatic:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Intermatic-timers-and-manuals.html#cycle
1) Talento 1 hour cycle timer/ each tripper represents 1.25 minutes
2) Model C8835/ each tripper represents 15 seconds.
To operate these timers certain hours of the day, add another timer in-line.
The in-line timer could be digital, but remember digital timers are not protected from power surge and tend to have more problems, and do not have replaceable clock motors and trippers.
