SOURCE: My Grill will no longer lift

I just had mine apart today because the cable broke. There is only one damper, in the left side where the pedal is. The other side is controlled by a cable that is strung on rollers. My cble broke so i had to replace it with one from a hardware store. I noticed that everything needs to be oiled for the system to work good. The gas strut/damper is inside of the lift tube. I would think it could be matched up with one from an automotive store. Autozone has a pretty good selection of them. But, The strut that is in the grill has a special end on it to fit the lift tube, you would have to somehow fabricate a new end or try to cut and weld or braze the old one onto the new strut. I have not had the strut problem yet because when I store the grill I leave it in the up position. this takes the stress and pressure off of the strut. Hope this helps.

Machine runs great. Foot peddal seams to get stuck and can only stop machine is turning it off.

First option is to lubricate the foot pedal hinge, the pivot point where the moving portion joins the stationary portion. If the pedal is not mechanically 'sticky' then replacement of the pedal will be necessary.

Problem with braking.-right foot depresses both brake pedal and accelerater

Try adjusting the brakes first. There is an adjustment nut in the pedal that sets the up height for the pedal. Might want to look into raising the pedal that way. You may not have enough brake fluid in the master cylinder. Check and adjust fluid level if necessary.

High pitched squeal when jeep idles or during deceleration. soonafter, clutch pedal jumped violently under my foot followed by engine stalling out. could not depress clutch pedal after that.

It sounds like your clutch bearing has gone they are usually on a pendulum system it screeches before it starts to go. Best get it checked.

It was working fine. Then stopped. When you depress the pedal the motor idles but the needle doesn't go up and down

it's possible that the foot pedal has gone out
check to make sure the power cord in inserted into the machine correctly & also the foot pedal

Grill will not go up when you step on foot pedal. seems grill to heavy! what kind of adjustment is needed?

I am having the same problem. If I take the grill off and press the pedal the hydraulics work and the arms raise, but when the grill is on it won't lift - as if it's too heavy. I was wondering if it just needed some WD-40.

Needle no longer controlled by Balance wheel or foot pedal, instead, manually turning Clutch knob now operates needle. How do I fix this?

sometimes the balance wheel has a portion that either pushes in or out....or a portion that twists clockwise... to connect the motor to the needle drive assembly.

Wont hold idle will start with foot depressing gas pedal will run with foot on gas but stalls when foot removed

Check and clean Idle air control valve. Make sure its responding to signal as well. Also make sure ther are no vacuum hoses disconnected. This may not be a "cure" but it's a good place to start.
