The new battery that you have purchased should definitely work with this camera and may last much longer than the older battery that you're using with it.

I have purchased today an EOS Rebel Canon T3i camera and am trying to register it today to qualify for benefits. This product does not appear on your list. Please advise me what to do.

Register your camera directly with the manufacturer.
If you bought it in the US, go to http://www.canonusa.com
Under the "Consumer & Home Office Tab" select "Product Registration".

If you bought it elsewhere, go to http://www.canon.com
Select your country or region and go from there.

No power - fully charged battery

How about cleaning the battery contacts in the camera first with a pencil eraser and then, with a cotton swab lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol.

Camera only takes 5 photos before dying

This new battery, if it is the exact type of battery recommended by the manufacturer then it is most likely not the battery. if you bought a similar battery it might be for even the minimum difference makes all the difference with digital cameras. for camera repair this company does a good job and you can even select your problem on their online quote. www.teleplancamerarepair.com

Canon eos 1ds battery life

This is a year old post and I would hope you have an answer by now, if not no harm I guess.
The batteries that first came with Canon's 1 Series cameras where pretty good sort of. Mine is a (NI-MH Battery) and would last about 300 frames with lots of viewing and powering the IS lens. Big thing about these batteries you need to use them up completely before charging if you don't and charge the thing part way through the battery has a memory and you then get less use before having to charge it again. I then bought two more third party batteries which do not have the memory. When on a shoot I load up the Canon battery shoot through it and then switch it out for the "No Name" battery which B.T.W. is 2200mAh and I get about 500 frames, lots of viewing and powering the IS lens. Bonus was to me I got two third party batteries for half the cost of one Canon battery

I can help you fix the BUSY Error or Error 99 of your Canon EOS Rebel XS.

Installation of this Canon EOS Rebel XS firmware version 1.06 update will solve these problems:
  1. Some cameras may exhibit a phenomenon in which the LCD monitor does not display, the shutter does not release, and the BUSY indication remains lit in the viewfinder.
  2. The message, "Err 99 Shooting is not possible. Turn the power switch to<OFF> and <ON> again or re-install the battery", appears on the camera's LCD monitor, and after the above operation is carried out,the LCD monitor displays in a language that is different from the actual language setting.
See the firmware instructions and download the firmware upgrade by following these Fixya Tips :

  1. Follow this link to download a pdf version of the firmware installation instruction guide.
  2. Follow this link to download the Windows Version of the Canon EOS Rebel XS / Canon EOS 1000D firmware version 1.06 update.
  3. Follow this link to download the MAC version of the Canon EOS Rebel XS / Canon EOS 1000D firmware version 1.06 update.
  4. Follow this link to download the Canon EOS Rebel XS / Canon EOS 1000D Instruction Manual.

I hope that helps.

Canon 5D won't turn on

Response from Guest posted on Apr. 01, 2008

Sent and received my Cannon EOS-5D from Canon and they replaced the power supply assembly. It had shorted out. They did not tell me why it shorted out so I'm left with the question of what is/are the event(s) that caused the power assembly to short out. I don't have a warm and fuzzy feeling that the problem has been fixed.
