Question about Friedrich Heating & Cooling
The purpose of the money saver button is to drop the fan speed. So please confirm what you mean by "nothing changed".
I am assuming the room temperature showed as 68deg F or is it the temperature setting on the controller.
Try to drop the temperature setting to 60 and check if compressor turns on. Most likely you could have set the unit to delayed timer setting when you flicked the buttons on the remote. I don't know which model you have, but you can press a reset switch next to the power chord if your unit has one to see if the fan turns on.
