SOURCE: My Dremel tool motor still works but shaft won't turn?

From looking at manual there is no transmission or connector so the only possible explanation is that the shaft is broken. You might try calling this number
1-800-437-3635 to see if they repair or can further advise you.

How do / What do U do to lock on/hold to to a tool,s working shaft ???

If I properly understand your question, it sounds like you probably want to loosen [unscrew] the collet nut in order to remove and exchange tool bits.

If THAT is the issue, then the answer is that it is not necessary to "hold" the shaft with any kind of hand-tool!

Dremel, and most of its imitators, install a "pin" type shaft lock right near the collet nut.

When gently pressed inward, the pin engages with a SINGLE hole in the shaft. This means you must gently hold the pin down against the shaft while very slowly turning the shaft with your fingers only.

When the hole in the shaft comes into alignment with the pin, your finger pressure will cause the pin to fully insert into the shaft hole, effectively "locking" the shaft.

As the pin is spring loaded to keep it away from the shaft, you must continue to hold the pin down until you have finished installing a tool bit, or finished whatever operation you intended. Or, if you release it, just go through the locking process again when needed!

Hi Joe, Joe here. I have a dremel tool now for almost 25 years. Same one. I had this happen to me. You should be able to get the parts at any hardware store that has the big dremel accessories cabinet. You can also get the parts from dremel's customer service. Great tool, next to my leatherman wave.

Have a Yard Machine riding mower with 21hp Briggs Stratton engine OHV/IC V-Twin. when I turn on key nothing happens. How many switches control the start motor from the ignition and where are they located....

It depends on the model but most riders have the following;
1. Seat switch
2. Brake pedal switch
3. PTO switch
4. Neutral switch (if its a shift model)

All need to be closed in order to start engine.

I have a collet nut that will not loosen. at one point while turning the shaft lock button pops up; even when pressed

Sorry, but I seem to have ( essentially ) the same problem... no positive lock. holding the button down while rotating the shaft to find the "best hold" then applying extra pressure sometimes helps. I had no problem with an older model. 400 XPR also seems to overhheat badly.
My ultimate solution: purchasing the model 4000.

I have a Dremel Single Speed Model 275 that belonged to my Dad. It suddenly won't turn on the end even though the motor is running at full speed. When I take my fingers and twist the end, it starts to turn...

The Dremel 275 (and other series) have a plastic coupler and spline that connect the motor shaft to the collet shaft (where the tools attach). The plastic fatigues and disintegrates, causing the collet shaft to stop, even if the motor is still running. The fix is about $5.00 --- two parts from Dremel. The 275 case is a **** shell that opens with the removal of six T-10 Torx screws.
