With the very limited info you've provided, no one will be able to solve your problem very quickly. Please provide the Windows version you are running (whether 32 or 64 bit) and the manufacturer's name and model of the camera if you wish to use the camera and computer as described in the camera's manual. You might be able to work the camera's supplied software in one of Windows' "Compatibility" modes.

If you're willing to forgo trying to get that combination working - you should be able to buy an inexpensive external card reader that connects via USB to your computer - and insert the memory card from your camera into it - instead of trying to transfer pictures directly out from the camera (assuming you are unable to transfer pictures AND the memory is removable). Windows has built-in software with the ability to display JPEG (or JPG) images and can do some minor editing on them. You can also purchase image editing software that can provide a much broader range of edits if desired.

Please rate this reply if you found it helpful - good luck!

Can I install a software package over the one on the computer.

It is done all the time. IF the directory is damaged then you would install it in a different directory for example instead of c:\windows you would create a new directory like for example it c:\win7. It is also true for every verson of windows ever made. Good Luck.

How can I tell if a game will run on this computer?

Check its Windows Experience Index score
The Windows Experience Index is a measure of how capable your computer is. To calculate it, Windows analyzes the hardware and software on your PC and then assigns it a score. The higher the number, the more likely your PC can handle games and other demanding programs.

When you buy a game, make sure the minimum score recommended by the publisher (typically printed on the box) is less than, or equal to, the Windows Experience Index for your computer. That's one way to ensure it will run smoothly.

Check its hardware requirements
Even if your computer's Windows Experience Index score is good enough for a particular title, it's possible that an individual piece of hardware-a video card, for example-on your PC isn't.

That's why it's also critical to study the minimum system requirements listed on the game packaging and confirm your computer meets or exceeds them. Few programs put a heavier demand on your computer than games. If your computer's specs fall short, a game might run sluggishly-or not at all.

The components game publishers are typically most concerned with are:

Central processing unit (CPU): Make sure both the CPU speed and model meet the game requirements.

Random access memory (RAM): Many games now require at least one gigabyte of RAM.

Video card: Your video card must have a certain amount of memory and have a compatible chipset (publishers usually list the make and model of compatible cards). Cards must also typically support DirectX 9 or later.

Hard disk: Most games require a certain amount of free space.
