Question about Garden

1 Answer

I have a GARDENA Watering Controller 4040 modular. In the Watering Programs section it says that '' a maximum of 6 channels can be open at the same time ''. On the assumption that each channel is one valve, I programme each valve and the layout of my garden requires that at least two are open at any one time. The instructions go on to say that '' if programs overlap, the display flashes ERROR ''. The instructions then go on to say '' Make sure no programs overlap ''. I do not see how one can avoid overlaps when more than one valve ( channel ) are open at the same time. Has anyone come across this problem, or am I misreading the instructions ? Thank you

Thank you for your answer. Water pressure is not a problem in my system. I have installed a pump of sufficient capacity to provide at least two if not three sections of the garden with water at the same time. Which is how I designed the system. Now when I run the system with two valves open I have the ERROR sign flashing all the time. I do not belive that this is right but I cannot see how to avoid it. Any other thoughts ?

    Thank you

You cannot run all channels at the same time you will not have enough water presure to do this . Check the manuel it might be saying that you have six station available there are 4 station timers 6,9,and 12 but each station has to run on its own and then move to the following station after water time is up for maxiumum water preasure.

My gardena water timer won't stop bipping. See the picture. Is it the battery ?

for the Gardena-T-1030-1805 model....
Gardena 1030 1805 Operating Instructions Manual Page 7

11. Battery
11.1 Status indicator
If the battery capacity falls below a certain level, a warning signal sounds every 15 seconds. The programs you have set are not run. The water flow cannot be opened manually. If a valve is open, however, it will be closed.
11.2 Changing the battery
If the battery capacity is too low (the warning signal beeps every 15 seconds), you must change the battery.

To do this, the water timer must be removed from the tap.
Important : Changing the battery deletes the data you have set.
To change the battery :
1. Insert the battery in the battery compartment
2. Set the Run Time control knob
3. Reset the watering data as described in "Setting the watering data".
3 If the Run Time knob is not turned to Reset, 5 seconds after the
battery was inserted the current Run Time shall be accepted. This is confirmed by a double beep.

Note : The time the battery was changed is taken to be the starting time.

To ensure that the water timer works properly we recommend that you insert a new battery at the beginning of every gardening season, or at the latest after a year.
Important ! Please dispose of used batteries properly at the appropriate communal waste disposal site. Only dispose of batteries when flat.

How do i set timer on gardena t 1030 d with distibutor?

Question is not clear.
-Are you looking for a product manual? Or somebody to explain certain parts of manual?
Add a comment with specific question, and I will respond. Or take advantage of fixya live and expert speaks with you over phone while you program timer.

-If you want the timer to control different watering channels, then 1030D does not perform that function. The timer just turns one valve on-and-off.

-Open following links to identify timer and download manual, and see links to other water timer products for example Orbit timers and Intermatic sprinkler timers can control multiple water channels:

I need to reset times but I do not have a manual

Timer is not identified:
Some Gardena manuals appear on following link:
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-program-Gardena-C1060.html#manuals

If your timer is not shown, then add a comment with clear description of timer, or include link to your in-focus photo of timer posted on Flickr for possible help.
Give as much detail as possible, and add what you have tried so far, to improve chance of getting correct information.

Cant stop the timer leaking

Open following link for some Gardena resources, including manual and link to gardena site.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-program-Gardena-C1060.html

Gardena certainly has a glossy site, but I have been unsuccessful trying to contact the company.
Their products come with warranty and they show parts, but no hint where you can buy parts.

I do not know how to fix your plastic timer valve, or if parts would actually repair the thing.
Maybe glue except I don't know a plastic glue that holds on outside of device under water pressure.
Plus I cannot see where it is leaking, and there is no description that tells me if valve was left outside and cracked with freezing water, or if the valve is 10 years old, or if exposed to hard water deposits or minerals in the water, or particulate has scratched moving parts, or high water pressure, or if wd-40 spray lubricant dissolved the o-ring, or if the valve cracked from an impact, or if exposure to sun/heat has made the plastic brittle.

From fixya standpoint, gardena is the most problematic watering device.

What do I set frequency? What does 8, 12, and 24 hr mean?

That means how far apart the watering cycles are. For instance, you may choose to have it turn on water for 1 hour (or whatever you like) every 8, 12 , or 24 hours. Hope this helps:)
