Try and reformat the hdd this can fix any bad sectors in the hdd, it happened to me twice first time i sent it in second time it happened i did that and it was fine ever since could save you 180+ dollars in repairs

Your lazer has burned out in your PS3. I had this happen to me one time the only way to get a new one is to send it to Sony and they well put a new one in. Or if you no how to build a lazer for your PS3 you can do that but it well cost you more for the parts so I would bring it back to Sony.
