Hello,

the reason there is no fan on the outside is because the outer shell of the unit is the condenser. the unit does it have a fan on the inside? also how does that gfasaket on the outside of the door look like? let me lknow

I would leave the door closed unplug it for half an hour. In that half hour go to sears.com customer service, manuals and guides and type in the full model number from the freezer. You should find an owners manual there to print or just browse for an answer. Good Luck.

Hi There,You can try out this steps if it will work
    Step
    1

    First, push the mode button
until the screen display reads "ALM 1". Once you have done this it will
read something like.. "OFF 7:15" or a generic "OFF 12:00".
    Step
    2

Now that you are on this display press down and hold the
"SET/RECALL" button. The screen will read "ALARM SET" as you hold the
button down. Once the screen changes to a blinking number you can move
    on.
    Step
    3

The display should now read "DAILY
12:00" with the hour (12) blinking. If you push the "START" button you
can increase this blinking digit, or the stop button to decrease this
    digit.
    Step
    4

When you have set the hour, you can
push the "MODE" button to transfer to the minute time and change that.
The same applies, push "START" to increase the time or "STOP" to
decrease the time. If you hold either "START" or "STOP" you can scroll
through the minutes faster instead of pushing the button multiple times.
    Step

    5

If you push "MODE" one more time you can select to
have the alarm on "DAILY", "WKDAYS", or "WKENDS". This will set the
alarm to go off every day, only on weekdays or only on weekends.
    Step

    6

When you have the alarm set how you would like it,
push the "SET/RECALL" button to set the alarm and you are done!

Can I lay down an Emerson 4.6 cu ft refrigerator to fit in my car to transport

Even though it's not the preferred method of transport, it's OK to lay a refrig down for moving, even new R134a if you pay close attention to the refrigerant lines.

Determine where the suction line runs up into the freezer. This is the largest tube connected to the compressor, and is usually (though not always) visible running up the back of the cabinet.

As long as the refrig is laid down on whichever side allows this line to stay 'high', there'll be minimal oil migration, and when you arrive at your destination, just stand it upright for an hour or so and it'll be fine. Obviously, the shorter the trip, the better.

If the suction line runs up the door handle side, just duct-tape the doors securely closed before you lay it down to keep them from opening and getting damaged. It helps to lay a block of wood under the top end, just to keep it inclined a bit, too.

I've been moving refrig's for some 32 years now, and while moving them in an upright position IS best, sometimes you just can't. I work out of a van, and have often laid both refrig's and upright freezers down for transport with no ill effects.

I need to install condenser fan motor on my newly bought freezer to protect it from our upcoming very hot summer. As I've heard that installing such a fan will prolong the life of the compressor. So, I...

One wire must go to Neutral or the black wire where it comes off the main power lead and connects to the unit wiring, The Live wire should be picked up from the thermostat terminal that powers the freezer compressor. In this way the fan will only run when the compressor is operating. If the fan motor is a large one , more than 200 watts, you will need to run it through a relay to prevent overloading the thermostat contacts.

I have a skandiluxe chest freezer and the orange light is on - is this right?

On my Skandiluxe CF309 chest freezer, the ORANGE LIGHT IS FAST FREEZE and should be depressed to quick freeze when adding newly bought items as the temperature will go up when you've opened the lid for prolonged periods. This is also used to drop the temperature when restoring after defrosting. REMEMBER TO TURN THIS OFF. Also, take note of the gauge in the inside of the freezer which tells you which setting to switch the dial to according to how full the freezer is, and therefore the most energy-efficient setting.

The red light is the warning or "alarm" and will light up when the temperature is too warm.

The green light is a "control" light and I can't remember what this is for, but I don't recall seeing it on in the 15yrs or so that I've had the freezer.

TO DEFROST:
(The drain comes out directly underneath the drain hole and there is no hose. Not a very helpful design. I found that if you tip the freezer forward and scoop out as much water as you can, then mop up the rest with a large bath towel, it should do the job.

BTW if you are planning to defrost the freezer (or any freezer for that matter), once you've switched it off, if you have access to a hand-held steamer, and place something like an empty plastic box to catch the ice (we used an unused litter tray as it's the perfect size to catch all the ice in an upright freezer), it saves a significant amount of time. If you don't have one, it's worth investing in a cheap one with the squeegee function so you can do all the nitty-gritty jobs around the house including the windows in no time and no elbow grease at all !!

I have a kenmore upright freezer and it runs continuosly, no freezing issues. It is located in my garage and the temperature is extremely hot. Should my freezer still cycle or could it be my thermostat or...

You may have the cold control set lower than necessary. Make sure the condenser panel is not coated with dust/dirt. If the outer walls of the freezer are the heat-release surfaces, make sure that nothing is on top of, or stacked next to, the outer case that could block heat release. Hope this helps!

AMANA UPRIGHT FREEZER LEAKS WATER FROM THE DOOR

Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 st1\:*{behavior:url(#ieooui) } /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";} Your evaporator coils frost up in normal use and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.
