Download pc wizard to find out what drivers you need search the net for them download install them then store i separate partition of hard drive I have presario c700 and all drivers work. this method should work on any computer converted from vista to xp

Audio
Vista has Mirosofts MUAA built in XP does not. You need to install MUAA on XP. Get it Here and install. Your modem will be picked up right away. Now get your XP connexant HD audio drivers. Here. Install.

Wireless
Get the AR5007EG XP 32 driver Here . Click -> start devmgmt.msc . Right click the missing device and select update driver. Point it to your AR5007EG install path. Select specific location then choose then have disk. point it to AR5007EG install path. Select the bottom device that says AR5006.

hey go start button.right click on the mycomputer.then go to manage.then device manager.select sound and audio devices.right click on the audio codecs.u will find update driver.then show thae path where u stored the drivers..then u will get sound...
start>mycomp>manage>devce manager>sound device>audio codecs>update driver.

Hey People,

I Have the solution for the sound driver of HP Compaq Presario C700 on windows XP.

First Please Download the driver (Conexant HDAudio 221_XP) from the link.

Now you have to do the following steps:

1- Go to device Manager and open (Sound, video and game controllers).
2- Check if the (Conexant HD-Audio Smart Audio) is recognized?
3- If not recognized go to the next point, if it was then right click and go to properties then under the driver tab click uninstall driver and now scan for the uninstalled hardware and follow the next instructions.
4- Under Device Manager again open (Conexant HD-Audio Smart Audio), now right click and chose update driver.
5- Now Click on (No, not this time) and click Next.
6- Now choose (Install from a list or specific location [Advance]) and click Next.
7- Now choose (Don't search I will choose the driver to install) and click Next.
8- Now Remove the tick (Show Compatable Hardware) and click (Have Disk).
9- Now you should Browse the file you downloaded (Conexant HDAudio 221_XP) and open XP32 and locate the (WiSVHe5.inf) file.
10- Force the installation to complete and then all your problems should be solved.

2. select Manage Option
3. A dialog box gets open
4. in that Dialog box select Device Mannager
5. There select Other devices
6. click on plus sign(+)
7. There select required sound driver
8. Right click on the sound driver and select Properties
9. A dialog box gets OPen
   
10. in that select Driver tab
11. In that select update driver
12. A dialog box gets openned
13. selesct 2nd option
14. click next
    
15. again select 2nd option
    
16. click next
17. a dialog box gets open in that select context
18. adn then seleect Have a disk
19. and then extract your audio driver file
20. there exist an .inf file select it
    
21. thus click next audio drivers gets installed succesfully
    

This model of Presario has an audio controller that supports the high definition audio. You need to have Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio installed on the computer before installing the audio driver.

After installing the UAA driver, restart the Notebook and then install the Audio driver from the link below .
