I am upset that I was told I had the winning bid right up to the last minute only to be told I lost the bid. I was watching up to the last minute and was to notified I needed to up my bid. This has ha

You didn't mention what auction site you are using, but I will answer as if you are using Ebay. It sounds like you are a victim of a sneaky but completely legal bidding technique called "sniping." Bidders often wait until the last 30 seconds or less of an auction is left before entering a bid, hoping to steal the win (which they often do).

As mentioned, this is legal and used on almost all auction sites. If you only use Ebay you have two main options. First, you can enter a larger final bid amount when you make your first and only bid. For example, let's say you are willing to pay up to $100 for an item but hope to get it for $70. You enter $100 and hope for the best. The advantage of doing this is you avoid overpaying for an item and don't have to watch the auction. The key disadvantage is other bidders make smaller bids and gradually push the total price up to your highest amount. The second option on Ebay is to wait until the very last part of an auction before entering your bid amount. This might get you the win, but you have to wait and watch the auction and sometimes scream when you still don't win, evan after getting up in the middle of the night!

You can also use automatic tools to enter a snipe bid. This is likely what other users who are winning the auctions are using. Some examples are,,,, and There are many more. If you choose one of these other tools, make sure you read all the fine print to clearly understand (a) how much each bid will cost and any other costs, (b) the software will work with your auction site, and (c) what personal information is stored and how it is used (don't use it if you are not comfortable with the privacy details). I would recommend trying one that has a free trial and then bid on a smaller item as a test.

Finally, change how you look at auctions. They can be a lot of fun, as long as you set realistic expectations and have clear, personal bidding rules you follow...

How to add buyers to your block bidder/buyer list - eBay

Here's how you can add a member to your Blocked Bidder/Buyer List:
1. Click "Site Map" located in the upper right corner of most eBay pages
2. Click "Block Bidder/Buyer List" near the top of the "Selling Activities" header in the center column.
3. Click "Add an eBay user to my Blocked Bidder/Buyer List."
4. Enter the user ID or email address of the member you'd like to block.
5. Click "Submit."
Note: If you add a member to the block bidder list who has already bid on one of your items, you'll want to cancel their bid.

I bid for an item on ebay it confirmed i was the high bidder till bidding ended but i didnt win the item i was bidding for why

somebody sniped your bid at the last second most likely unless Ebay took it off the last second. Check your "not won" box on the left of your summary column to check on all bids placed by clicking on the total bids showing that were made

I recently placed a bid on a used wintec saddle.I then saw another saddle i liked better. So i placed a bid on that too.I want to cancel bidding on the first saddle cause i'm now the highest bidder on...

As per eBay and a general rule, based on your inquiry -you can't retract or cancel a bid. When you place a bid, you agree to pay for the item if you're the winning bidder. When you place a bid it is considered a contract, and you're obligated to purchase the item. The best way is to contact the seller thru email or sand a message as early as possible. Based on my experience sellers will work with you if you communicate with them openly and honestly.

Hope this helps.

Is it safe to have foreign friends on facebook that you do not know??

They will have access to whatever personal information you allow them to. Some people do make a living by mass collecting personal information and selling it to the highest bidder. It's up to you, but I would only add my friends unless the account was a fake account for 'gaming' only.

I bid on a truck in dec. Fell off roof cleaning gutters, Got hurt, broke some ribs...etc Anyways well I was in hospital my landlady tryed to help me with the truck I bid on, she called brooklynautosales the...

Okay if I understand you correctly you are no longer buying the truck you are just covering their seller fees charged by Ebay since you backed out of the deal, right?
Yes Ebay charges seller a closing fee upon closing a sale you never completed the sale so the buyer can file a NON PAYING BIDDER claim which reimburse the buyer of the fees Ebay charged.
The buyer could also do a second chance offer to the second highest bidder. Trust me the seller has options one of them is not to charge a winning bidder closing fees for an incomplete sale.
