Why does my maytag mqf1656tew have ice build up on bottom shelf and where is the drain plug at. This is a frost free freezer

Frost Free means that it performs defrost cycles to keep the chiller plate or evaporator fins free of frost. Difficult to know where your frost is, but it can build up on anything this time of year. If your frost is on a part that provides the cooling, then it will need a service visit as the defrost timer is faulty.

Siemens defrost controler

turn the defrost cycle switch till the compressor shuts off, if the defrost heater starts working you know it's the cycle switch. Sometimes the thermostat has to be showing a need for the heater to even come on. In
this case you might have to jump out the thermostat to make the
heater come on. If you thaw the back of the freezer and visually inspect the heating element it can sometimes have burnt ends that will tell you
it is bad. You could also use a voltmeter and track where the voltage stops. But make sure the Thermostat and defrost cycle switch will be
calling for heater to come on.

Siemens ka..n freezer problem

Look inside the back wall of the freezer to see if you have a layer of frost building. If yes this will indicate that the refrigerator is missing its defrost cycle. When you miss defrost it is usally number 1 the defrost control. Number 2 is the defrost heater has burned out and #3 the defrost thermostat. For you to look up the correct replacement parts you will need to find your refrigerators model number found most times inside the fresh food compartment. Click Here for=> Bosch Refrigerator Defrost ControlsI will be here to answer any questions you may have or if you have your model number let me know and I will help you find the parts you need, Thanks Sea Breeze

Hi I have an upright Siemens freezer (model E000786) which is 9 years old. It still works well but I have found for the last couple of years that it needs defrosting more frequently due to the ice...

a full defrost will take, depending on room temperature, about 12 hours,DO NOT USE HOT WATER/SHARP OBLECTS.
you can use car deicer but it will leave a residue/smell that you can remove by wiping out with clorine bleach.make sure any drain holes are syringed out with clorine and wipe out any drip tray to stop smells.by drain away he probably means"dries naturally"
do make sure all food is wrapped/covered (clingfilm) to cut down on frost/condensation inside the unit.after a full defrost fill with your usual foodstuff and fill any space left with newspaper filled poly bags.(less airspace=more efficient)

Our no frost (siemens)has during some weeks alarmed more frekvently than before. The dorr is closed. We don´t have too much in it. Yesterday we cleaned behind it. Is it running broke? Can we do...

because it is nearly empty the auto defrost is taking the inside temp up over the alarm set figure.
the best way to stop alarm going off is to fill all empty spaces up with plastic bags filled with scrunched up newspaper.no really.it works to keep down the airflow.....

Refrig/Freezer not getting cold

If there is frost on the back wall of the freezer section a defrost is required. Defrost is normally automatic on a timed cycle. If you have frost and you know it is because of the door being open to long with the refrigerator running it could clear the coil automatically in the next 12 hours of operation. If it does not clear the frost from the coil inside the back wall you may require service to check out the timing device, heaters, and defrost thermostat.
