If it's a machine that starts with a pump out first it may have a blocked pump. Have you tested in a different socket to rule out that?

FLC271W2 washer squeal during wash cycle

THE DRIVE PULLEY- If the washer is making a loud noise the drive pulley might be worn out, cracked, loose or bent. Remove the drive pulley and inspect it carefully. If it is damaged or defective replace it.
THE DRIVE MOTOR- If the washer is making a loud noise the drive motor bearings may have worn out. Washer motors are normally almost silent when they run. If the motor is run without a belt hooked up to it and it's loud it will have to be replaced.

If the washer is making a loud noise the drain pump might be going bad or might have something caught in it. Remove the drain pump from the washer and inspect it carefully. Look for anything that might be caught in it, a piece of wire, plastic, etc. If nothing is wrong with the pump, but it's still noisy it will have to be replaced.

Drum wont turn but the moter does

Hello Deanna - This particular issue could be caused by a variety of reasons. I would suggest trying the following steps:

1) Verify a circuit breaker isn't tripped

2) Advance the timer control dial slowly 360 degrees-

If the washer starts spinning, then that means the motor and drive belt are fine but that there is something wrong with either the timer control dial or the agitator solenoid. Call in a professional for this.

If the washer doesn't budge, then verify that the drive belt(s) is attached and not broken by removing the back panel. If the belt is broken, replace it. If it is loose, then tighten it by loosening up the bolt holding the motor and moving it on its swingarm (much like a car alternator) until there is a 1/2 to 3/4 inch deflection in the belt.
Some washers use reversing motors. It's possible the motor works on the spin cycle but not on the wash cycle. If so, call a pro.

3) Visually inspect the lid safety switch- Is it loose or cracked? If so, the washer might work intermittently, stopping at different cycles.

4) Check motor and drive belt- Remove the main access panel (usually in the back). Is the motor spinning, but the drive belt isn't? If so, then you have a drive belt problem.

Washer will not start on any cycles but gentel

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. It is probably your timer switch that is bad. If it works in this setting, the washer works. You may have a bad lid switch. Listen to hear if you can hear the switch click when you shut and open the lid. If so, it is probably working. It is either the timing switch or the washer is out of time. Try going through the settings a time or two. Unplug the washer and plug it back up to reset it. Since your washer does work on gentle, it is not the belt, motor, pump, ect. It is a timing issue. If you need anything else, let me know and good luck.

Treadmill belt stopped

Double check all your connection. Check to see if you may have pinched any wires. Also check to see if you have accidently unplugged or pulled a wire loose. If that's not the case it sounds like a lower board issue.

Washer not finsihing spin cycle and bounces across room

The noise could be from loose lower front weight mounting bolts or a loose bolt securing
the driven pulley. Check the belt for a weak seam and replace if necessary. Check the motor adjustment bolt for tightness.

"Ticking or Knocking" Noise In Spin: The noise could be from a loose wire harness, plastic purse-lock wire harness retainer on upper hose hitting the topcover or a plastic injection mold standoff on the outer tub bearing housing may possibly be interfering with the driven pulley. Also, check the drive belt for a weak spot on the belt. Usually felt on the backside of the belt as a "flat" spot. Replace the belt.

Loud spin cycle

There is a good chance that the hub nut came loose and now the split ring is destroyed, maybe along with the hub that it sits on..

To inspect these parts, the agitator must be pulled sharply and abruptly off the agitator coupler. There are no mechanical fasteners that attach the agitator to the coupler, it snaps on. A strong strap under the agitator and a quick, swift pull will remove the agitator.( Don't hit your face, it hurts)

Removing the coupler, then the basket should reveal the source of the noise.
