Er09 and Er07 black screened

Turn off the unit for 15 mins.
Turn back on with eveything connected except the antenna.
You will get an er 09 on the display.
Press OK on the remote.
With a bit of luck the box will reboot into standby.
Connect antenna and see how you get on.

After accepting a download of software on 09/11/09 my SAGEM HDD type DVR 6200T is just sitting with a blank screen on the TV and P603 flashing on the display. Hopw can I reset the system?

Although the Sagem PVR 6200 and 6200t are not specifically listed as models which have been known to have problems with the recent Freeview retune they are very closely related to the 6280/6240 models which are known to have issues and share most of the same firmware and software.

See the address below for a chart of affected models although it's proven not to be a comprehensive list, you'll need to contact Sagem directly on 0845 0900 316 to find out how to resolve this issue..

Sorry I can't provide you with a definite solution but it's very likely that your model is one of those which only Sagem can sort out.

Hi I had the same problem P603, er07 and er09, solved it by buying a 12v adaptor, you dont have to use sagem, in fact they are not very helpful, they will only take credit cards and it will cost you £15.00, any 12v adaptor will do. Mine is working perfectly now

The Sagem PVR 6280 is specifically listed as a model which will have problems with the retune. Although the Sagem PVR 6200 and 6200t are not specifically listed as problem models they are very closely related to the 6280/6240 models and share most of the same firmware and software.

See the address below for a chart of affected models, you'll need to contact Sagem directly on 0845 0900 316 for either an over the air update or an update DVD depending upon the manufacturer.

Sagem dtr 6400t makes a whirring sound when you turn it on as if it is loading but nothing else happens. No screen is loaded so cant access any menus or anything

My Sagem DVR 6200T/6400T developed this problem. Initially, over a few days when I tried switching on the box via the normal button on the remote, the display would we black (no readout) but the box still made a whirring noise as if it was working and it would take about upto 15 mins for the display to come on and then I could use the remote as normal. After doing this for a couple of days the display evenutally stopped appearing, so the box would keep on making a whirring sound as if its was trying to initialise but nothing would be displayed on the readout and nothing happens if you press the handset. I tried turning it off and on at the mains plug, plugging the connections in and out of the box and television and at one point gave the box a 'smack' out of frustration. Amazingly I momentarily got a flashing error message:- either pb03 or p603 which upon looking online (for ages) apparently means an initialising error which seemed to make sense. NOTE- I do not recommend other people try 'beating up' their box. Anyway, this error never reappeared after turning the box off and on at the mains plug. After further research someone on this fixya site said try changing the Sagem adapor cable. I found an old external hard drive and the adaptor cable, which has the same input and output information as written on the Sagem AC/DC adaptor cable fitted and my sagem box now works fine again. And to think I was on the verge of paying out over £139 for a new box and amazingly all that was wrong with the old box was the cable! Points to note about using a different cable:- make sure the part that plugs into your box is the same size. Another adaptor I had rooted out from an external cd drive worked but it kept on switching the box off because the connection into the box (round plug) was slightly too small. The input should be 100-240V-50/60Hz and the output +12V=2.0A. Apologies for writing so much but because I no nothing about electrics I am trying to explain what I mean in laymens terms. I also suggest if you are in doubt, take your old cable into an electrical store like Maplins and get the advice you need about a new cable that is the same input and output as your sagem adaptor cable so that you do not plug in an AC/DC adaptor that could do further damage. AC/DC adaptors do not cost much and you may find that an universal adaptor set correctly may work.
I would like to thank the person who posted the solution because it worked for me and has saved me a lot of money.
