What i would recommend you to do is to uninstall the device and reinstall it back...to uninstall it...assuming that you are running windows xp...click on start, right click on my computer and go to properties..you should have your system properties open then click under hardware then device manager...look for the sansa device..it usually located under portable device..if its not showing there i would recommend you to look for under disk drives and see if its there..right click on the device and click on uninstall...after you unintall it unplug your device from the computer....Then follow this link below to download the porting kit..http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai... .Then check the mode of yuor device to make sure it sunder MTP not msc...To check the mode go under menu, settings and choose usb mode...After you check the mode open up your windows media player click on tools, options and click under privacy...clear the history and caches...after you finish you can plug the device on the back of the computer not the front then windows should recongnize it and it should work properly..if that doesnt solve the problems upgrade your windows media player to 11 even though you have done that already..and try to reconnect your device..make sure you have it on the back of your computer...

Should you have any questions..let me know..
    P.S.Please rate accordingly...

Part II - Windows Media Player by Tha Mp3 Doctor

The instructions in these pages, which are largely links, pertain to Windows Media Player 10 and 11 only.

Windows Media Player is made by Microsoft. The general help page for Windows Media Player is:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/default.mspx

Through this link, you can enter a variety of search terms that will help you find what you are looking for (exs.: “add files to my mp3 player”; “delete files from my mp3 player,” etc.)

Important Vocabulary:

The code word for “mp3 player” in Windows Media Player is “DEVICE” or “portable device”

The code word for adding files is “SYNC,” “syncing,” or “synchronizing”

The code word for copying files from CD is “RIP,” or “ripping”

The code word for files stored on both My Computer and my Mp3 player (when it is connected to the computer) is “LIBRARY”

To add files (SYNC) to your mp3 player using Windows Media Player 10:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/windowsmediaplayer/wmp10/harrison_wmp10.mspx

To add files (SYNC) to your mp3 player using Windows Media Player 11:

To delete files from your mp3 player using Windows Media Player 10:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/knowledgecenter/mediaadvice/0085.mspx#EDF

To delete files from your mp3 player using Windows Media Player 11:

My Directions:

1. Connect your mp3 player to the computer

2. Open Windows Media Player

3. Click on the icon of your Mp3 player on the left-hand side of the Library

4. Click on the Songs, Tracks, or other Music Folder

5. Find a song or songs that you want to delete

6. Left-click the song once to highlight it

7. Press the “Delete” button on your computer’s keyboard

To copy (RIP) files from CD to Mp3 player using Windows Media Player 10:

Can't load songs

ive had this same problemo. you cant use the media converter to drag and drop songs. you have to download your songs or rip them onto windows media player. you plug in the sansa and then when its recognized there will be an area on the right hand side where you drag the songs and they appear on sansa.

My Sandisk Sansa C250 playing MP3 files in random order

The order is not random it just appears that way..
The order they are copied seems to be the order they are played.
It looks at the ID tags no the file names.
The way I load my songs on are using Media Monkey or Windows Media Player 11.. I create a playlist then Sync it to the Sansa.
