- To upgrade to the recommended firmware, you will need for find an XP computer with iRiver Music Manager, which your iRiver iFP-895 can connect to. Once you update the firmware, then the Vista computer should recognize your iRiver iFP-895 as a USB Mass Storage device.

NOTE: some of the features and options might be lost (i.e. voice recording, 96bps max rate, etc.)
