Cant log in windows!

Restart the computer and as soon as it starts booting up start tapping on F8 key on your keyboard.
The computer would show you advanced boot options.. select "Safe mode" from the list.
When it asks for Administrator's password, leave the password blank and hit enter .. If you have not set any password for the safemode (normally many users don't) then it would log you on and you can go to the control panel and reset the administrator's password or you can even create a new user profile.
Once you complete the above process, restart the computer and let it boot normally.
Now try logging in with the new password or the new user account that you might have created while in the safe mode.

Let me know if that works for you. All the best.
And yes, Do not forget to rate this solution :)

Srinivas.

Hp 530 laptop windows startup password forgotten how do i reset it?

Please Be aware that when using this option you will permanently lose access to any e‑mail messages that were stored on the hard drive (ie. like through Outlook) or encrypted files that are on that account.

If you only have One Account on the PC you are going to need to boot into "Safemode" to do this :

1. Restart PC
2. As it is Restarting tap the F8 key over and over until you see a "Start Up Options Menu"
3. Select Safe Mode and Press Enter
4. Voila! You are in Safe Mode
5. Log Out/ Switch User
6. You Should See and Icon for Your User Account and Administrator
7. Select Administrator.

Part 2

Once Logged in Follow these steps:

1. Open Local Users and Groups by clicking the Start button , typing lusrmgr.msc into the Search box, and then pressing ENTER.‌
2. Double-click Local Users and Groups, and then click Users.
3. Right-click the account that you need to reset the password for, and then click Set Password.
4. Type and confirm the new password.
5. Restart your PC normally
6. Log in with your new password ;-)

I hope this Helps. Take Care =)

restart the pc and before windows starts up press the f-8 key to bring up the start-up option screen. select safe mode. log on to any of the listed accounts as each is an administrator account.
note: if you did not set an administrator password for the pc when installing windows, you may be able to click anywhere on the desktop screen and the administrator account will display. you select that account and hit enter without using a password.

Computer pc pass word forgotten

You should actually have 2 accounts. One is called Administrator and appears when you start your operating system in safe mode. It has no password by default so you should still be able to access it.

Restart your computer and keep hitting 'F8' until you're prompted with a menu. Select something along the lines of 'Start Windows In Safe Mode' and Windows will load. Just login to the administrator account and remove the password.
It might also be a good idea to put a password on the admin account and keep it somewhere safe.

If that doesn't work then reset the password via the jumpers on the MOBO. See below:

Assuming that you have a Pentium Processor:

Shut down your PC. Detach Power plug. Open your CPU case. Touch casing or metal to ensure grounding. You will see 3 pins on the mother board. In that 3 pins first 2 pins are closed with a jumper. Take the jumper off & replace it on the other two pins. Now try to turn on your PC. It should open Windows without asking you for password.

I have forgotten the password that i used when opening my account. please assist. thank you phill rogers

Forgetting your Windows administrator login password. With no way to get into the system, you can’t even perform basic maintenance, let alone a thorough tune-up. Formatting is always an option, but we consider that a last resort. (Plus, guess who’s going to have to help reinstall all the programs lost after a wipe?) But all hope is not lost. There are a few ways to actually retrieve a lost Windows account password. Read on, and we’ll show you the light.

1st Method:
The first thing which you check if you forget login password. When we install Windows, it automatically creates an account "Administrator" and sets its password to blank. So if you have forget your user account password then try this:
Start system and when you see Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press ctrl+alt+del keys twice and it'll show Classic Login box. Now type "Administrator" (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.
Now you can reset your account password from "Control Panel -> User Accounts".
Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Login screen.

2th Method:
There are a lot of Windows password revealers and crackers available, but I’ve found that Windows Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:
it not only supports XP, 2000, and NT, I have personally tested it with Vista Home Premium and Ultimate. It works perfectly to reset any local user account to a blank password
You can use the ISO to burn a boot CD. Follow these instructions:
1. Download ISO file from http://www.windowspasswordsrecovery.com Windows Password Recovery Tool
2. Burn to a CD using a CD burning tool such as Nero or Roxio or MagicISO
3. Insert CD into drive and reboot.
4. You may have to select an option in the BIOS to get the computer to boot from the CD.
Booting up and clearing a password takes a minute or two works like a charm.

Yes, you have to have administrator rights to add/remove programs.

Log out and then log in as administrator:
First you must ensure that the Administrator Account is enabled:
1 open Control Panel
2 open Administrative Tools
3 open Local Security Policy
4 expand Local Policies
5 click on Security Options
6 ensure that Accounts: Administrator account status is enabled

1 open Control Panel
2 open User Accounts
3 click Change the way users log on or log off
4 untick Use the Welcome Screen
5 click Apply Options
You will now be able to log on as Administrator in Normal Mode
