Question about Sanyo DP32648 32 in. LCD TV
I have a Sanyo 32" LCD TV (DP32648) that doesnt work anymore. I can plug it into an outlet and press the power button and the green led comes on for about 3 seconds and then goes off... that's it. No sound, no video. Power board seems to be good. F1 fuse is good. I'm trying to figure out if I should replace the main board or if its a problem related with the display/interface. Any thoughts?

The power supply is failing, or there is another circuit area that is pulling too much current, and the supply is going in to protect mode.
This would require proper troubleshooting by an experienced tech. If the problem is very involved, or the tech is not familiar with the set, he will require the service manuals and service information.

If this problem is happening on a regular TV channel and does not appear when watching an HD channel or while watching a DVD then most likely you have no problem at all. What you are seeing is actually the LOW Definition signal sent for regular TV programming that used to look pretty good on a small tube style screen but now is enlarged on a screen capable of incredible accuracy and is displaying all of the poor quality attributes of standard definition TV.

I had a similar problem like yours with a different TV. I had to find the Service Manual for the TV to really find the problem. The manual gives me every schematic and parts number list for every board in the TV.
It turned out to be a bad Inverter Transformer. It was one of six that powered the LCD screen. You might have the same problem.
The Service Manual on the internet for most TVs are under $20. It's the best material for diagnosing the problem. It worked for me.
