Question about Computers & Internet
When I try to play a DVD I get this box that says:
WinDVD MFC Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
When I click for more information it says:
AppName: windvd.exe AppVer: 220.127.116.11 ModName: gpiproxy.dll
ModVer: 18.104.22.168 Offset: 00476c92
What I do to fix this?
Your antivirus is detecting the gpiproxy.dll as a "hacktool" or "virus". I suggest that you either uninstall or disable your AV when you reinstall WinDVD. I use Landesk AV and I finally figured out that the AV was not allowing the dll file to register or it was deleting it. So I uninstall Landesk, installed WinDVD and it worked fine. Afterwards I reinstalled Landesk and it still played the DVD fine.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
