SOURCE: Condensation on refrigerator front btwn top freezer and refrigerator doors

I have the same problem with my frig in the basement. I get condensation and resulting mold on the top outer surface and related areas. This is from the surface being cold, with resulting outside moist air condensing on the cold surface. Best solution - spray/wipe the surface with a bleach and water solution, let it soak a few minutes, then wipe off with a rag. Add a drop of dishwasher soap to a mixture of roughly 4 parts water to one part bleach. Repeat if necessary. Do this as often as the problem seems to creep up again. Good luck!

SOURCE: the refrigerator is not getting or staying cold enough. the freezer seems to working ok

Check the vent at the top of the shared refrigerator wall for cold air from the freezer. If not, then you can either replace the motorized flap inside the vent or prop the flap open with a stick or something. The manual solution won't harm anything. The motorized flap is an over-engineered solution designed to create service calls. :<)

SOURCE: The freezer is cold and keeps things frozen, but

This can occur because of any of the 2 possibilities given below: 1) if the timer is faulty it will clog the air vents with ice and not defrost them at all so no air passes to the refrigerator section to cool it.
To solve this problem getting the timer replaced should solve the issue.Timer costs approx 35 dollars.
2)Refrigerator air vents may be clogged by some other foriegn particles and blocking the cold air to reach
To solve this you need to manually clean the clogged airvents and pipes.also try defrosting your unit for aprox 18 hours. It should help in solving the issue to particular extent too.

SOURCE: Both the freezer section and refrigerator stopped

YOUR REF. MAY BE STUCK IN DEFROST. IN THE CEILING OF YOUR REF. THERE IS A CONTROL HOUSING. THERE IS AN ACCESS HOLE ABOUT 6 INCHES BACK MORE OR LESS IN THAT AREA. INSIDE THIS HOLE IS A ROUND GREY, BLACK OR RED PIECE THAT CAN BE TURNED IN ONE DIRECTION WITH A FLAT BLADE SCREW DRIVER. TURN IT. IF IT STARTS YOU WILL NEED A DEFROST TIMER. NEED MORE HELP JUST ASK.

I have model number PDE18LZRBB. Freezer works fine; refrigerator section will not cool properly.

Your problem is usually caused by poor air circulation. The only way the refrig section gets cold is from the fan in the freezer blowing cold air into the refrig section. The fan should be behind the back wall of the freezer and should be running at the same time the complete refrigerator is running. No fan run---no cold in the fresh food section.

Freezer side not cold enough, similar temperature as Refrigerator side

It could be many things. My first guess would be the defrost. The coil that gets cold in your freezer builds ice on it and the only way to get the ice off is to run a heater near the coil long enough for the ice to melt. All freezers have something built in to defrost and domestic are typically just an electric heater on a timer. When your freezer stops working again, you may want to pull open the panel of your freezer and see if your coil (a heat exchanger that probably looks a lot like your car radiator) is covered in ice. If it is, it could be the timer or the actual heater that is bad.

Refrigerator not cold

Hi,
Usually when this happens it is because of a problem with the fan that moves cold air from the freezer section of your unit to the refrigerator section. Either the fan has gone bad or the unit has frosted up to the point of stopping the fan. Try defrosting (unplugging) the unit over night and then check it to see if the fan runs. If not then replace the fan. If it runs and then stops after awhile like days or even a few weeks, then you may need a defrost timer.

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

The food and drinks in the refrigerator does not feel and taste cold enough. The freezer is just fine.

Check for proper operation of the freezer fan. This fan moves cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator. If the fan is not turning, the freezer will be too cold and the refrigerator will not be cold enough.

The fan should be behind an access plate at the rear of the freezer. Listen for the sound of the fan. If you can't hear it, remove the cover and look at the fan. If it's not turning, you will need to replace the fan motor.

Upper section of refrig. not cooloing. Remainder

check to make sure the freezer fan is turning. This should be inside the freezer unit at the top. It is probably behind an access panel.

If this fan is not turning, not enough cold air will move to the refrigerator side to keep it cold enough. If the fan has died, it will have to be replaced.

Freezer is cold but not keeping icecream frozen.

If, the fresh food section is 34- 38 degrees, then the freezer should be cold enough to keep ice cream solid. All of the cooling capability comes from the freezer section. I, personally, would not waste time or money on a ten year old box. Ten years ago it cost $1000, so, the outlay is $100 per year. Dump the old refrigerator and get a new one.

Freezer cold /refrigator warm . we have a side by side unit a couple of years old the freezer seems to work fine but the refrigator is warm .It don,t seem to make any funny noises and the back is clean

When the compressor is running, if the fan by the compressor and the fan inside the freezer are both running, and there is no frost on the back wall of the freezer (if there was frost would indicate a defrost issue) then check the air dampener. It is located at the very top left back side of the fresh food section. If it is not opening up, no air will flow from the freezer compartment (where all the cooling takes place) into the refrigerator section.
