Question about Brother CS6000i Computerized Sewing Machine

1 Answer

Loud and punching through fabric

My machine has just started being very loud and literally punching through the fabric. I'm not sewing anything really thick or heavy, but it is making holes in my fabric. I also got an E6 message tonight a couple of times. The thread was not tangled like the manual said it was, but I re-threaded the machine and it still wouldn't work right.
Has this happened to anyone else? Oh, and I also changed the needle to see if that helped, but it didn't.

It is feeding through, although a couple of times the needle just stopped and I had to manually move the needle.

I'm having the same problem with mine and E6 except the bobbin case won't stay in place and the needle keeps breaking..

Is the material feeding through or is stopping in one place?

I have had the same thing happen to me even when I was on the phone with a brother tech, I went step by step with her, she told me to turn the machine off and then on, so it would clear it.

This was happening some when i was having problems just trying to wind a new bobbin.

ps. If other brother owners are not aware bother has a dvd for several machines that is put together very well in how to use your machines.
and its free for the asking and they pay s & h.

Loud sound with brand new Singer 4111

Oil the "feed dogs" (movement under the pressure foot) make sure your needle has not slide down. Try sewing on lighter weight fabric until you solve the problem. No clapping noise is good.

My brother started making a loud noise when sewing pant fabrics

Your machine is complaining because it doesn't have the power to push through the layers of fabric. That clunking noise is the gears in the machine skipping and being sheered off (or it will be eventually) STOP!

If you feel that you need to continue... stop when it does this noise and use the HAND WHEEL. You'll also need to make sure that the presser foot remains level while going over thick seams.

3.wrong size needle for the fabric
4.the wrong foot is attached
5.the needle clamp screw is loose
6. Top tension is too tight

Lould noise when sewing. already, cleaned inside, oiled, changed thread, needle and begins to sew correctly but while sewing becomes loud again. bobbin casing does not appear to be damaged. machine is...

Have you taken your throat plate off and cleaned that out? You have to take a stubby short screwdriver and remove the throat plate. Sometimes, lint and cloth build up in there and it looks like felt almost. I was surprised when mine had it, I always followed the standard way of cleaning and lubricating until my friend told me about this. I was shocked, to say the least, that she was right. And my machine quieted right down. Hope this solves your problem

Model 6408. machine jams with a loud noise (belts slipping !!) and bend's needle, as if fabric is beeing pushed to the rear before needle clears fabric.

Go to Singer at and you can buy a hard cover instruction manual for $15.. Your needle shaft may be bent so that it is hitting the presser foot.

My machine is making a loud banging noise

These are the things that cause my machine to make a "banging" sound:

The machines with the horizontal/drop-in bobbin sometimes collect lint in the bobbin case.

Sewing fabric backed with a synthetic/foam/vinyl or adhesive.

Wrong size needle for the type of fabric being sewn.

My sewing machine will not pick up the bobbin thread. It sounds normal and pulls the fabric through, but the threads do not intertwine. I had been having problems with the bottom thread clogging and...

when the needle pulls the fabric into the feed dog you dont have enough fabric behund the neelde when you srart, and the fabric gets caught in the feed and the bobbin case underneath clean it out anf change the needle they often get bent after they get tangled in the thread and fabric
