Question about Standard (CRT) Televisions
Most audio problems on a standard TV unit could be attributed to:
1. internal speaker failure;
2. circuitry component failure such as the audio IC (most likely) or the output capacitor (if any, unlikely).
Though there has been instances where the sound (or the lack of it) can be traced to some of the features such as mute, SAP, volume up/down all controlled by a single large IC that controls all the basic functions/features.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
