Ink pads end service life

Such an open ended question is difficult to answer but to cover the basics, here's your options:
  1. Take the printer to a service centre and ask them to replace the waste ink pads and reset the waste ink counter.

  2. Reset the waste ink counter using a compatible tool (specific information about your printer model is required to determine if one is available).
BUT... if you just reset, be prepared for the waste ink pads to overflow and cause damage/problems.

  3. Reset as per 2. but also install an external waste ink tank like a Printer Potty kit.
If you want more specific information, please provide your printer model and we can go from there.

Epson c84 stylus inkjet lower ink pads installation diagram

You are asking because you got a message like this:
parts inside my printer are reaching their end of service life?Read about it at this link:http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Storesupport/InkPadsForm.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes.
4 options:
1. Reset the printer with the utility above (after realizing that IF the pads are actually near full, which I've only seen once, ink will start overflowing onto your desk sometime in the future (put the printer on a baking pan for safety).
2a. Replace pads yourself (a pain and cost more than the printer is worth) parts drawing and parts are available at:http://www.compassmicro.com/
The rest is disassembly- either the service manual - you might find free (or a YouTube video), but definitely for $ at:http://www.2manuals.com/index.php?cPath=2_39
JUST DON'T TRY DOING THIS WITHOUT some guidance- you will end up at option 3 eventually if you do this you will still need to do # 1 to reset the counter2b. Have service firm do it ( way more than the printer is worth)
3a.If you really "love" that C84, or have a bunch of ink - look on Craigslist or ebay
3b. Buy "refurbished" epson printer with warranty, inks and probably free shipping at:http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/jsp/EsHome.do?BV_UseBVCookie=yes

Ink absorber is full

Waste ink is full. The printer needs servicing. Can be done yourself, though EXTREMELY MESSY! And you'll need to find how to reset the counter, or just look here:

http://www.fixya.com/support/t1987764-canon_mx310_wase_ink_full_any_ideas

The waste ink pad is a huge and dirty job. It requires nearly full disassembly of the machine and full washing and drying of the waste ink pads. Resetting the counter without cleaning the pads will result in waste ink overflowing out of your printer and on to what ever the printer is on. As for printer disassembly, service manuals are not generally available for consumer grade machines, which means you're on your own. Having torn down many machine's myself I can tell you it takes time, patience and a good memory. Take good note of where everything came from and how it goes back together.

Epson cx6400 problem - ''parts are at end of useful life, see documentation'' How do I fix this?

Open the printer and replace the ink pad. Then download the epson service tool and clear the counter.
Don't clear the counter if you didn't replace the ink pad or the ink will overflow all over the printer mechanism and on your desktop.

Epson R200 printer error, Parts inside your printer are at the end of their service life. See your printer documentation.

A Service Error where you get a message telling you that "Parts inside your printer at the end of their service life, contact your dealer for replacement", or "Parts inside your printer require maintenance or replacement, call your service company", is normally a Maintenance Request Error. The maintenance request error is actually a Waste Ink Ink Pad Error and usually your remedy is to replace the Waste Ink Pad/Pads with a new one/ones and then reset the Internal Waste Ink Pad Counter. If you just reset the counter and don't replace the pads, then your printers old pads will eventually overflow and normally start leaking ink out the bottom of your printer. Some people actually wash the ink out of the old pads, by holding them under running cold water. Then they simply dry them out and reinstall them back into their printer. The choice on what to actually do, is yours to make. I would at least recommend getting that Waste Ink Counter reset procedure and performing it first, to make sure your printer will then work.

Trouble codes - red and green light flashing alternately

The Waste Ink Pads in your printer are saturated with ink and the waste ink counter has exceeded its limit. The Waste Ink Pads should be replaced as soon as possible. You can overcome this problem temporarily by using the SSC utility - download from

http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml

and reset the Protection Counter. This will stop the lights flashing and restore normal operation. However, remember that eventually ink will overflow from the waste ink area and make a dreadful mess, so you must change the waste ink pads before this happens. This requires the disassembly of the printer. If you want to have a go at doing this yourself, the 820 service manual can be downloaded from here:

The C64/66 service manual can be downloaded from here:

Should you decide to have a go at changing the waste ink pads, let me know and I can supply some notes on opening the case - it's a pig and the service manual is not that helpful.

If both lights are flashing, it means the Waste Ink Pads in your printer are saturated with ink and the waste ink ("protection") counter has exceeded its limit.

A copy of the service manual is available from a number of sellers - just Google "Epson C44 Service Manual". You will often find them for sale very cheaply on E-Bay. Note, however, if you can find or borrow any of the C40,42,44,60,62 service manuals, as far as ink pad replacement goes, they are the same.
