Well perhaps you forgot to switch it to the playback mode (red switch on the power ) in the record mode you have to choose between lcd and viewfinder . further more it is possible to switch the display off .

the camera needs enough power i reccommend 2500 NIMH

Hello,

You can view images shot almost immediately on the LCD Screen. You can select the following 3 methods for viewing images.
1)Single-image screen
2)Index Screen
3)On TV Screen

See link for manual attached and look for pages35-37.

Thank you.

No image is available to view on the lcd screen canon ixus85is

Click the "disp" button. The display of the camera has been turned off in the LCD screen but you can still use the viewfinder, this functionality is just for those who prefer to use the viewfinder instead of the LCD screen.

How can you use the LCD screen in lieu of looking through the view finder to take pictures. This is for a Canon EOS Rebel XT.

Im afraid your camera does not have live view so therefore you will have to use the viewfinder to take your images and view them back on the lcd screen.

Does the e500 have live view capabilities?

The E-500 does not have live view capability. All of the images need to be taken by using the viewfinder only. The LCD is only used for reviewing previously taken images and for setting menu options in the camera.

LCD on - view image prior to taking photo

The feature you are referring to is called "Live View mode".

This is NOT available on the Nikon D80, and was only introduced on the D90, which is available now.

Live View mode allows you to use the LCD screen as your view finder instead of using the eyepiece, but unfortunately, this feature is not available in your model.

Nikon coolpix 5700

at the back of the camera next to the view finder (bottom right hand corner) is a button and icon marked SEL. pressing this button toggles the lens image from the view finder to the lcd screen and back again. IF neither view is available then I suspect your camera needs some TLC at a repair shop. hope this helps.
